He hasn't exactly been shining brightly since turning pro.
But okay, I can see that he won the prologue of Tour de l'Avenir last year.

He is quite a bizarre character at 60 kilos and if you look at his results you might wonder what on earth a 21 year old with zero notable pro results is doing at Ineos and coming 10th in a WT tt ahead of some serious riders.
Apparently they did loads of testing on the guy and his lactate/VO2 values are absolutely off the charts, obviously it doesn't necessarily translate to results on a bicycle but they decided someone of that mutant physiological profile is worth persisting and taking a bit of a risk with.

I am amazed Red Bull haven't pulled the necessary strings to get some competent people in charge yet. So many underperformers and so many amateur mistakes like these for a team with their budget.

I just had another looks at Finn Fisher Black, and must have started just one or two seconds too late indeed. The camera shows his 3-minute-man Valter at 2:59 before it switches to FFB, who then instantly gets off the ramp.
UCI rules also say "The start may be determined by the front tyre making contact with an electronic timing strip on the start line. If the rider starts fractionally before the countdown reaches 0 or in the following 5 seconds the time it is triggered is used", so there likely was no time loss at all.
He also missed the bike check 15 minutes before the start, though, and got a penalty for that.

No, but taking a shortcut in a TT is different and it's a less important event (also I don't particularly like him and find it annoying how he can act so much the victim when he in fact did break a rule).

Interesting Situation at Bora... Lipo telling he is just a domestique in this race (also due to illness)... nevertheless I think He is by far their best Option to win this race... Interesting to see if they stick to the original options (Vlasov & Martinez) and may end up beside the top spot of the podium or if they keep Lipo as long as possible in the race to have several possibilities to go for the win on stage 6
How did Mas do such a bad ITT? I know he's never very good at them but losing 1'10" over short distance seems to suggest he wasn't feeling well, or perhaps he isn't planning to go for GC and will support Castrillo or someone else?

Forgot who it was but someone at Jumbo said something along the lines of being forced to get their *** together because Roglic was starting to get really demanding as he started to be a threat for GTs.
