This video surprised me. His eyes are so... He looks like he's seen a ghost.
I think his almost crashing freaked him out honestly.
It's fascinating both he and Wout looks like they are missing something rather than being happy.
I can understand it, still it's not the kind of crying I usually see from winners. It's a different kind.
It's like they're merely kids that wants to go home and now they're so tired they just cry and whine until they get to sleep. (I still cannot believe these guys both having kids of their own. It makes no sense, they are but kids themselves.)

I can’t say for sure about Roglic but my guess is the riders on these mega doped teams basically sign everything away in order to be on the Uber juice. Being on a team like Jumbo or UAE right now is the equivalent of relying on Limewire for all your music downloads - high risk, high reward, high chance of complete corruption at any moment.My goshWorst Tour I have seen since 2012, I stopped watching after yesterday. I just can't take any more. And a thought should be spared for the forgotten one - poor Primoz Roglic. One day Primoz will realize he has been used and abused by Jumbo who found a new alpha mutant responder so they have thrown Roglic on the scrapheap. He won't ever win a Tour because they found a freak responder that means they don't need him anymore.
For extra clarity, Thomas said he even couldn’t keep pace with Bjerg that day (who came back from getting dropped on the 1st climb to shredding the peloton apart an hour later), let along McNulty who went above Armstrong levels before the final act of the freak show started.

It's a completely crazy performance, but I still give the edge to WvA in terms of outrageousness - but only just.

Rogla, the forgotten man.
His team of self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing juiced idiots make him look human. Hell, they made Pogacar look human as well.
I want to know why Roglic has seemed a little 'off' all year (he did have trouble in Paris-Nice & then looked on the limit in the Dauphiné) whilst Vingegaard has been transformed into a watts monster at a level way beyond anything we could imagine a couple of months ago.
I think when we're watching laboratory products released into the TdF to casually scoop-up the winnings, any theory can be explored. Nothing we watched was 'real', ergo the reasons behind Rogla's apparent decommissioning this year are probably not 'real' either (real in the sense of normal sporting equity & natural reasons behind the slump).
When people talk of age etc. I really don't buy it considering the ridiculousness of the rest of the team. Something else is going on.
Maybe he is just not responding as well as the others. Maybe he has been on it for longer and it is starting to wear off.

Tried to find some comparable TT shots:
Saying his position is like like Remco... seriously.
He looks to have a very similar position as WVA, no way does he get the cda of Remco.
Remco Evenepoel should smash Vingegaard in an ITT. Especially a flat one.
But Ganna should have as well, so in the last ITT of such a mutant TdF we can easily conclude concepts like speciality, weight & real aerodynamism mean very little versus brute force watts super powers.
A bit like Marco Pantani finishing 3rd in the final ITT of the 1998 TdF. Totally legit. And God knows I rate Pantani's natural born skillset way above a rider like Vingegaard but that ITT result (like Vinge's yesterday) was evidence of radioactive pas normal fuel in the rider's veins.

How sadder can it be? A nuclear TdF winner is not even the most outrageous rider in his team.
(I wrongly posted this in Pogacar thread, just when McNulty's one-off madness started to feel like Mickey Mouse effort compared to the non-stop Jumbo awesomeness)

Everyone from 3rd onwards on GC is either totally unproven as a top level GC performer (Gaudu, Pidcock, Vlasov), over the hill (Thomas, Bardet and Quintana), or massively underperformed (Mas and Yates). Plus Roglic and O'Connor may have been the strongest contenders had they not crash. So during the first week of so I was keeping some degree of open mind. However, I can't do the mental gymnastics to give Vingegaard the benefit of the doubt with these absolutely insane time gaps that developed and the consistently superb back to back to back body destroying efforts resulting in perfect recovery . If the gaps had all been just half as big I'd still have been suspicious.
Other than WVA I didnt find the rest of TJV crazy. Even Kuss was largely reduced to a spectator for extended periods of the mountains despite seeming to have very good legs and having been seemingly protected to do his super-dmoestique thing. I'd usually cut the biggest budgeted teams a bit of slack, but other than Roglic's attacks Vingegaards success had very little to so with his team. It was a solo effort.
The UK coverage pointed out Vingegaard was bleeding through his skin suit at his left elbow at the start of the ITT. Has anything been said to explain why this might have happened? They speculated he'd crashed when out recce-ing the route (and the bleeding hadn't been staunched?) but made it clear they didnt know what it could be. Even anti-doping hero Dave Millar couldn't seemingly offer a firm suggestion.
Being a skin suit perhaps it doesn't take much blood to seep through and I doubt needles would be applied to such a potentially visible location. Are blood thinners (which give you a propensity to bleed) a thing? Did we mention blood thinners in relation to the Colbrelli situation or am I making that up?
I constantly pick up scratches and cuts in my arms when working outdoors. I have never once bled hours after the event to the extent I would stain through clothing.

Ignore what I said about Colbrelli. I was mis-remembering. Of more possible relevance is EPO can create blood clots so blood thinning agents are a countermeasure (with the sideffect of you bleeding long after your skin is cut and just generally unpredictable and heavier bleeding).

3mins 26secs in this video. Blood stain clearly visible at left elbow on starting ramp. Don't think it can be from wiping a nosebleed (which might have been even more suspicious) given the positioning of the stain.
