GCN published an interview with Kim Cadzow yesterday in which she pointed out that just because she had worked at a fish farm, she wasn't "salmon fish buddies" with Vingegaard.

Even though I doubt he actually dealt a lot with salmon at his job, I definitely still think "salmon fish buddies" has potential to become the Visma version of Astana's husbands.

I do see it. Some resemblance.

Except for the addition of the Worlds, that's completely identical to this year. It's rather impressive in just how many ways he manages to be boring.
While the failure of his opponents to stop his dominance can be boring, I think it's crazy to call him boring (on the bike). Just list his attacks (and how far out they have been) through this season. Attacking on Tourmalet with 50 km to go after already gaining a solid buffer the day before? Boring.

Next you'll tell me that Froome's raid over Finestre was boring.

What you expect him to do? He's not good in one day races, it doesn't make sense going to that races.

He is not a pogacar or a valverde in the sense of being good in every type of race. He is like indurain, armstrong, froome, a GT rider. He needs to focus on what he is good, and that's grand tours, specially the Tour france.

The most easy path for him to be an all time great is trying to win 5/6 Tours de france.

He is always attacking in every race he enters, i don't agree that he is boring.

He said to Danish TV2 yesterday, that they were going to have a closer look at the route before deciding whether he would ride the Vuelta or not, so his participation is not at all confirmed yet. He also still wants to go to the Olympics. In case he's selected for both the WC and the Olympics, then I doubt he'll be riding the Vuelta as well.

A bit of variety, a crack at the Ardennes at some point (he hasn't tried anywhere near enough to say he's *** at one-day races and in fact did pretty decent at them in 2021 when he wasn't as good as he is now), a crack at the Giro at some point. Yes, he'll cement his place in history, but he will also be fondly remembered by about two people outside his own country.

Also, Indurain won a Clásica San Sebastian, Olympic gold and a WCTT, and podiumed the WCRR three times, and pulled off the Giro-Tour double twice. That reflects a level of ambition outside of the Tour that would make Vingegaard break out in hives.

This year was the first time (other than 2019) where he didn't ride the Ardennes. So he avoids them less than Froome and Contador did.

So far, he has never contended any one-day race of significance (the only decent performances have been in Lombardia). Yet he aims for the WCRR next year.

You may not like the best stage racer focusing on stage races (and the most important one of them), but to talk about a lack of ambition outside of the Tour after this season is just pure garbage.

It's the opposite. For the casual fans, if he wins many Tours de France like 5 or 6, he will remembered by them for long long years.

He will try the Giro, but maybe it's not yet the right time to do it. He will try Tour and vuelta for now when he is at his peak years oh his career.

Maybe he could do some top 5/top 10 in one day races like lombardia, classica san sebastian, fleche wallone, even milan san remo, but in the best scenario he will always lose in the sprint. He is very light.

So rather stage race heavy schedule. The addition of Worlds is in my opinion good. Comparing to Pogi schedule, so basically both targeting a GT double. Will this be the year? Considering there might be one or two more of such attempts announced. By others. I do believe that Vuelta might still be under question mark and the decision to be made after the Tour. Lack of one day races is somewhat understanding, considering characteristics. Still it likely wouldn't hurt, to add one.
