Podium position is reasonable to expect, for Jonas, beyond that it's anyone's guess. For sure both Visma and Jonas will prepare good. Attrition and fatigue is something they plan to inflict plenty. Likely no other team will do that as much as them.

If you compare him to Vingegaard, Pogi was better at a younger age because he was actually more professional and didn't spend time at a fish factory. In Pogi's case it was obviously not his age that made him so much better from one year to the next in 2024. It's clearly the new coach.
No. Pogacar wasn´t more professional in theU23s than Vingegaard.
Pogacar's team wasn´t better than Coloquick. In fact, it was a much worse team in UCI ranking.

UAE signed him after the Course de Paix he won. But until then, he hadn't had better professional training or material than Vingegaard, nor a better contract.
That same year Visma signed Vingegaard for 2019.
Both moved to a professional team the same year, although Pogacar was younger, but his amateur career was with a slovenian continental teams.

“Podium position” is a funny way of saying 1st is a win, 2nd a defeat. Pogacar and Vingegaard barring crashes or sickness will again be unreachable for the rest. They have shown this for 4 years now and does not seem like they lost their level quite yet.

Since he is leaving Visma next year, this decision is a bit strange. However, if he had any problem inside Visma, he would be in the Tour.

Tullet deserves more a spot in the Tour than benoot at this point.

Benoot is more complete even if Tullet might be a better climber however this decision is very strange, specially since he is leaving the team. It's not like he couldn't bring his family to Tignes.

Apparently he already did this in the past.

WVA, Campenaerts and Affini are enough outside of the climbs. One more climber like tullet would fit well, but whatever, it is not that important, since the Tour will not be decided by who have the strongest team.

It's unrealistic to expect another 1st and 2nd, this is cycling after all.

Baring crashes or illnesses, 1st and 2nd is the only realistic thing to expect.
It's been proven once again in Dauphine.

I don't agree with that and IMHO it won't be 1st and 2nd in between Pogi and Jonas at the Tour 2025.

Anyway, we'll see.

Crashes, illnesses or other bad luck can happen to them at any time. Other than that they are pretty big favorites to make top2 for the 5th (!) time in a row.

So if there are no crashes or illnesses who is gonna beat any of them?
And most importantly, based on what?

I mean, if we are acting like this, a question, what would Rogličes result at the Tour, from 2021 to 2024 most likely be like, not involving crashes or illness? Indeed.

Anyway, looking forward to it.

In 2020, Roglic didn´t have accidents andhe was defeated by a 20 years neo-proffesional Pogacar.
But he would´ve beaten a better Pogacar and Vingegaard, considering that in 2023 Jumbo sent Roglic to the Giro because Jumbo already considered Vingegaard superior to Roglic

So your main point is that someone will crash (just because "it's time" statistically) and that's why they won't be 1st and 2nd?
Then I agree.

@YavorD

No, that was not my point. My point was Roglič, without crashes or illness, as that is the criteria you set, would by now likely have around 5 Tour podium positions. Note that at minimum, meaning some of it would likely be equal or higher then what Rogla already achieved at the Tour in the past. On top of that no, i don't feel Pogi or Jonas need to get injured, for Rogla to beat them, this is something others are spreading, not me. I thought Remco will be closer at Dauphiné, he had some issues with crashes and pollen, so there is that. Anyway, time to bring out the big guns.

Data seems to suggest that not only Jonas but all other teams are substantially behind this season, compared not only to Pogi but to the UAE as a whole:
