a bit of a shame o'connor got all that free time. I don't think they will easily get that time back on him.

So that means it could only be 1 spot left for podium which complicates thinks for Jonas. Otherwise he'd be a shoe in with his time trial...
We’ll see how O’Connor goes in week 3, but I feel like the most likely scenario is the podium spots go to 2 of the 6 guys sitting within 1 minute of each other from 3rd to 8th. There’s proven gc performers and know talents in there, whereas BOC is new to this whole “stay up in the gc group all the time” business, and doesn’t have a great team around him for it.

Give him Vuelta or Giro leadership next year?
Let's see how he manages this test first, but for the moment, i 'd rate him higher than Kuss as a GC rider. He can take 3 minutes on Kuss in the TT's, and the way Kuss can be inconsistent, he won't take 3 minutes in the mountains (if anything at all) assuming he would ride for GC. Kruijswijk unfortunately looks "done", Dumoulin is "out" of GC's, Bennett must have seen the light by now... After Roglic it's basically Vingegaard & Foss, unless Van Aert wants to focus on GC's from now on and shift from cobbled classics to hilly classics.

I think you could make both Foss and Vingegaard ride the same race for GC. They won't be the big favorites, and don't have to take too much responsibilities in the group of favorites, they can ride the coattails of the big boys and their trains. Roglic can't ride 3 GT's for GC so there should definitely be some options for them.

Someone mentioned in another thread the possibility of a TTT next year at the TDF... The question is, if they did have one and if Rohan Dennis does sign with JV how much time would a line up that included Roglic, Dumoulin, Rohan Dennis, Jonas Vinegegaard, ET AL, gain on the UAE team using a medium and short version for estimate of KMs. Not that this is likely but for arguments sake?

You forgot Van Aert, maybe Foss and Affini, too. A scary team for TTT.

Wow forgot about Van Aert LOL but the only question is would the other two be the best for flats and climbs and whatever is needed for being domestiques? But if that was a TTT team OH MY!!!!

Scary TTT team indeed but with their luck they would probably crash somewhere.

A 250km TTT with Van Aert, Küng, Evenepoel, Ganna, Dennis and Bissegger all riding for the same team. The only way to beat the Pogmeister.

How do you pronounce his name? I feel like the way I'm hearing it on Eurosport is incorrect but I don't really know. Is the "rd" at the end silent?

From the Rob Hatch thread:
I mean, it's more or less jaw with a classic g as in good instead of the j. (but with a short rather than a long vowel)

Here you have it with bonde- instead of vinge-: https://ordnet.dk/ddo/ordbog?query=bondegård

Combine it with vinge: https://ordnet.dk/ddo/ordbog?query=vinge

Impressive today. If he can keep this form for the rest of the Tour, he will finish 2nd. And he should also get leadership in GC races where Roglic isn't riding, or at least be protected in the races Roglic does race. His TT isn't much worse, if at all, and his climbing has been impressive so far. Definitely a level higher than Kuss and Foss overall.

Hope he can crack Pogacar, though that seems highly unlikely, but it would make things interesting and dramatic.

Froome just made the top 100. And the Cav group only lost 40 minutes.
Wrong thread?

He really surprised me today. Pogacar was obviously not at his best, but Wownas still took a lot of time out of everyone over a short distance, thoug he did lose most of it again in the end.

There's a heatwave in Africa now, likely to break the temperature record in the weekend (51.3 degrees) in Algeria. Spain will be super hot, the French Pyrenees just hot.
