Say he starts the Tour. Would the lack of preparation mean that he can ride himself into shape or the opposite because he did not have sufficient preparation for a three week race. If it's the former, he struggles in week 1 but gets close to his best in week 3, we could be in for a very spectacular Tour. GT is not a controllable training. It's hard to ride oneself into form with attacks from all directions: Teddy, Rogla and Remco won't just wait until Vingo gets better, actually the opposite will be true.

What do you mean by R & R? Roglic and Remco? I'm not convinced that Vingo will be in good enough form to fight for the Tour but it could be Rogla who wins the Tour at the expense of weakening Teddy.

Pogi does not get that weak never (enough) anymore during rest career of Roglic. Sad but true (barring any accident, sickness et al)

The first week of the Giro sawJumbo without any riders, without WVA and Jonas. I reckon there's a bit of good sense there.

I also would slightly prefer Roglic to win but I don't see him making it 3 weeks without a crash. Especially on bora. That's more of the problem than strategy to me

Maybe Thomas isn't quite as good this year, but I imagine his form is fairly similar, but Pogi is winning by 7 minutes and it could have been more had Pogi not been saving himself for the Tour. This was Roglic's main goal last year, so he should have been in almost top form. Plus, Roglic hasn't been so strong this year anyway. Roglic is clearly better than Thomas, but they are close to being equals. Yete it is crazy to consider Thomas being a contender to Pogi. Yes Pogi and Jonas haven't had ideal prep, but they are just too much better than Roglic for him to have a chance

But anyone who actually watched the Giro can tell you two things about Rog's form in that race: he crashed hard in the Tao GH DNF crash, aka an injury which he carried all the way to Rome. The other thing is he hates bad weather as well (rain & cold are pretty much a form of kryptonite for Rog).

If you want to see what he can do, just watch the Angliru stage in last year's Vuelta. It's a much better indicator.

Yes, he was better on La Vuelta, but still not enough to drop a cooked Vingegaard, like we saw on Angliru and Jalavambre.
