Unsportsmanlike and disrespectful behavior from Pogi!!! Jonas would NEVER shout such words at Pogi. I have lost the respect I had for Pogi. He is the Badger 100 times worse! He is definitely the world's best cyclist, but that is completely overshadowed by what a sportsman he really is when it comes down to it......... And it's not the first time it's happened either.....he also spoke badly about Wout Van Art to Adam Yates at the Tour de France in 2023.... But as soon as he is aware of the camera and a microphone he plays the jovial innocent boy scout who just loves to cycle

Great stage. He is more explosive and his TT will be very interesting to follow. Today, he showed Pogacar will not drop him in any hill in the Tour but he still needs to show he can drop Pogacar. What a great Tour we will have.

Mentally that might be already an advantage vs Pogacar, who has the classics and puncher pedigree (unlike him). If he can't get a gap on the short hills he might become nervous.

Last year, he wasn't able too. Pogacar is very confident. Do you remember what happened in the last year on Pla d'Adet? He destroyed that climb after a tough loss on stage 11 against Jonas.

Yeah, but stage 11 was down to his own hybris, in straight up short acceleration battles like when he went one climb too early on that stage or during the first km of the Galibier he always got a gap. That said, you're right about the fact that stage 11 was false hope for all those who hoped for a competitive gc battle for the overall win.

Last year Pogacar didn't drop him in the "classics" and medium mountain stages as well.
We were told "if Vingegaard was able to stay close to Pogacar on this stages, he'll destroy him in the high mountains."

No, I still think Vingegaard will win the Tour, but him staying close to Pogacar on similar stages isn't something unseen.

IMO these stages aren't critical in a long run, you can be behind 2 minutes and deliver a fatal blow later in the race. I still expect Pog to test Jonas on Mur de Bretagne but the first week is mostly about ITT.

Yes and Pogacar already realized that so he is working on his w/kg during long climbs.

Vingegaard wasn’t doing himself any favors responding to attacks by always going the long way around.

Of all the outcomes I could have imagined, Vingegaard wearing green for Pogačar tomorrow at the second stage of CdD was not on my list, but I'm very pleased.

Also, might be turning into a Vingegaard fan.

Yeah, nobody expected that after such a rib and lung injury, before the race the general consensus was that Pogacar was gonna win it without too many problems.

After Stage 11, that all changed. I distinctly remember the general feeling here was that Vingo was about to smash Pog. Then, of course, the opposite happened. Anyway, I loved the way Vingo raced today. This portends well for the Tour.

Breaking down his performance it seems he rode exceptionally well on the flat part before the climb, I'm calculation just 5-7s slower than Remco, but around 20s faster than Pog and Jorgenson. From the time check to finish, which was slighty downhill, he had the 5th best time behind Remco, Foss, Jorgenson and Waerenskjold (last three much heavier).

Bit odd maybe is that he lost time to Remco on the climb. But in Algarve he also didn't climb super well on the climb in the end of that tt, just the 6th best time.

Strong on the flat, but struggles a tiny bit on the climb with the tt bike? Probably reading too much in to it...

He often does a positive split in ITTs, especially when not at his absolute best.

Honestly can't remember a single negative split or flat split TT by him.
