Been leading the Giro for over a week and looks likely for his first GT Top Ten. He deserves a thread of his own.

So will Trek begin to give him more leadership roles at GTs or do they think this was a lucky fluke? It’s not like they are loaded with budding 3 week talent.

The name 'Lopez' has sure been used a lot more during this Giro than anyone probably expected when Superman abandonded.

Spoke too soon about final GC Spot but if Tommy Voeckler got a thread for his style, this guy needs one too.

He did well today, but closing down the attack from Carapaz right after he'd been dropped wasn't the smartest move.

Great fight both today and on the Blockhaus. He might keep his spot in the top10 if he doesn't collapse, but it will also depends on the racing.

I think he overperformed during these days in pink. But he is definitely a good climber. Top10 should be virtually guaranteed unless he collapses on the third week, which I don't think is very likely to happen.

He is not GC contender material as of now, though. He isn't more than a fringe Top10 contender unless he improves a lot, so better deploy him as a stagehunter.

10 days visiting the Giro podium without being shot by a loose cork is no small feat.

I think with Juan Pedro, its a matter of discovering how well he can recover over a 3 week GT. Trek isn't exactly loaded with quality GC riders at the moment. Ciccone is a top tier climber, but he has yet to contend high up over 3 weeks. Mollema's GC days are behind him.

I just want to say this... don't upset him because "El patron" will go bezerk and use lethal weapons like bags and bottles to attack you

Did a good Vuelta already last year. But I do not see him end up on the top end of GTs in the future. Lower top 10s in Giro and Vuelta. Which might be good enough for Trek atm.
