Visma is a Scandinavian enterprise so Vingegaard obviously has had that pull. Just like Hagenes & Co
You can't have 2 teamsif this merger is happening, then the most logical way would be to create a super team and a normal team. Sell off the top wage guys to other teams. Ala, Roglic and a few others etc. Their wages should be enough to cover the wages of other riders who are on contract. there is no way the entire 20-25 riders +staff can be absorbed into the other teams
Visma is Norwegian (hence why I guess Staune Mittet and Strand Hagenes will not suffer from the potential merger), was created in mid 90s and expanded to Denmark and UK a few years later. Nowadays they are of course in a lot of countries all over Europe and the whole going in as cycling sponsor was to increase the market in BeNeLux countries. Today Scandinavia, Benelux, Central and Eastern-Europe are the target marget. They're also active in The Netherlands and in Belgium: https://www.visma.com/countries/belgium
I doubt Visma will care much whether they win with a Dane or a Belgian ;-)
Yes, aswell as receiving a lump sum for releasing Roglic. Roglic's contract termination fee should cover a fair few riders salaries. If Roglic leaves Jumbo, how does that effect the new teams finances? I assume that would save them around 4-5M per year? Maybe a boost to Remco and Kuss' salaries?
That would actually make more sense to me. I think Remco at JV is going find himself in the same situation with Vinge as Roglic is now. At least Roglic is older, so you could see how Remco could eventually move into the #1 slot whereas Vinge is really young and will probably be top dog for a long time.Roglič and Remco to Ineos. Now that would be fun war against Jumbo and UAE.
Normally is apparently a throwaway word in Flemish and this is lost in translation.Anyone remembers how Remco responded on LRCP podcast when asked if he's gonna be in Quickstep next year?
- Normally, yes.
I thought it was a weird response. First I thought maybe it's his English. But now I think he might've known it too.
I wouldn't be surprised if they all knew.
Which is why he dropped himself so hard in the Tourmalet stage, as a favour to Kuss for next year. It finally all makes sense.Anyone remembers how Remco responded on LRCP podcast when asked if he's gonna be in Quickstep next year?

Cycling sponsor Vacansoleil declared bankrupt. They sponsor Jumbo-Visma Women.
B&B disaster was worse
According to german highways, no.Dutch people are not taking enough holidays?

Vacansoleil just declared bankrupt, Gorillas left them with a €5million budget deficit. Point is we have no idea what their financial situation is.Really?
With the B&B disaster they lost a sponsor/couldn't attract a sponsor after all.
Here, they had sponsors, and then suddenly someone just went full dumbass!

Just my point, you have no idea about Jumbo-Visma's financial situation. They are an active sponsor of the JV womens team. What's Vacansoleil got to do with that? That team folded years ago.
