Any team kicked out now would fight.
A lot of races are overdue for wildcard aplications, so it would basically destroy that teams whole season, with no chance of recovery.
In my opinion to kick a team out now would basically destroy it.

Actually this is a golden chance for UCI to kick Riis and the saxo boys out of the sport.

And why is that? Riis and Saxo did something other teams, DS, owners, docs, wifes, mechanics, bus drivers or masseurs didnt do?

Get your head straight, then ban every team and owner in the peloton, no wait, ban cycling in its present form, ban everybody.

AG2R La Mondiale, Euskaltel-Euskadi, Blanco Pro Cycling Team, Garmin-Sharp, Team Argos-Shimano, Team Saxo-Tinkoff and Katusha will be reassessed, and one will be kicked out.

only good thing to come out of this is no wildcard for argos. they are a joke anyway and katusha won;t be reassessed. they are in, that's the whole point of the cas decisison

Another case that shows the total incompetence of the UCI. Is there anyone who can start a lawsuit against Pat and his friends to get them kicked out?

And do they seriously believe they can kick a team out of the WT at this point? That wouldn't be a problem for CAS? Where they obviously will end up again.

If they decide to kick out a team now, that's a huge joke. What are they gonna do with the races where wildcards already have been awarded? That's a lot of (big) races.

And surely the team kicked out will appeal to CAS and then what?

Given it is the UCI.
UCI kick a team out, the team appeals to CAS, CAS reinstates them
UCI kick another team out, the team appeals to CAS, CAS reinstates them

Anything the UCI do will result in an appeal to CAS it would seem. I would have thought 19 WT teams is a no-no as they won't get the races to drop a wildcard place. Less riders will see complaints from all of the current WT teams if they are sensible and an extra 9 riders on the road just isn't feasible. There are already many people saying the peloton is too large.

Also, remember that hotels etc. have already been booked for riders and team personnel and probably assigned. It may not actually be logistically possible to have another team in races by now.

Surely this calls for a whole review of the licencing system, with clear, defined guidelines and a transparent process?

[conspiracy theory]

Which team is headed by a man who helped bring down a man that the UCI had been corruptly protecting for many years?
Time for payback.

Me too. I'm considering petitioning to have cycling removed from the Olympics. It might be the only way to actually get Pat out.

that won't get pat out at all. only way is to threaten him in a way that makes him realize he goes out or he and his family die. he's f'n stubbon irish ***hole

They may have to stick with it this time. Very unfortunate if this happens, AC Vs. CF is shaping up to be a very good contest, Saxo out of the WT could mean no AC at the Tour.

If Contador wants to do the Tour, Saxo will be invited. Let's not exaggerate.

I guess we'll end up with 19 WT teams anyway.
