Re: Free form/Chaos Thread
Check out what I found in my backpack today. This is a 500 Dobra coin, the currency of São Tomé and Principe. I was there one month ago with some friends and it was the first time that I could call myself a millionnaire. I found out though that I'm not made out for being a millionnaire, cause I squandered through 2 million Dobra in only three days, and even had to borrow money just to be able to get out of the country. This 500 Dobra coin is all that I had left. It should be noted that the street exchange rate for Dobra is 1€ = 25.000 Dobra, so this 500 Dobra coin is the equivalent of 0,02 cents. According to wikipedia, there are also 250 and 100 Dobra coins, so that would be 0,01 and 0,004 cents. I didn't get to see those though.
Another intersting thing is that São Tomé is one of those places where the local currency is worth so little, that street changers will pay more than the peg rate. The Dobra is pegged to the Euro at 1€ = 24.500 Dobra, but the street value is 1€ = 25.000.
