i am not sure what news of the world is like, but the puffington host is 99% crap. it is all celebrity gossip, most of whom i have never heard of and wouldn't interest me if i had, and other kinds of link bait. don't get me started on the woo, like anti-vax and that charlatan deepak chopra. it calls itself "the internet newspaper", but if you want news you are better off going directly to the bbc or some other originally sourced news outlet or better still kill a tree and read an actual newspaper.:D

In that case, I kill 2 trees daily for domestic news and one every fortnight for analysis and a host of other sites for real news. I'm not much of US domestic news follower so I can't comment on most papers.

Huffington seems exactly like NOTW.

Pub 'haunted by wine snob ghost'

A Birmingham pub is said to be haunted by the ghost of a wine snob who smashes bottles of house wine he doesn't like.

The ghost, named Corky by regulars at the Court Oak pub in Harborne, haunts the cellar, according to pub manager Anne Tyler.

She claims Corky has given his opinion about the wine on offer every Halloween for the last few years.

She said smashed bottles of red and white house wine were discovered in the cellar until the selection was upgraded.

Nuala Gallagher, of the Sizzling Pubs chain which owns the pub, said: "It isn't so much things that go bump in the night as things going smash in the night at the Court Oak.

No sun — no moon!
No morn — no noon –
No dawn — no dusk — no proper time of day –

No sky — no earthly view –
No distance looking blue –
No road — no street — no “t’other side the way ” –

No end to any Row –
No indications where the Crescents go –
No top to any steeple –
No recognitions of familiar people –

No courtesies for showing ‘em –
No knowing ‘em!
No travelling at all — no locomotion,
No inkling of the way — no notion –

“No go” — by land or ocean –
No mail — no post –
No news from any foreign coast –
No park — no ring — no afternoon gentility –

No company — no nobility –
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member –
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds,

November!

– Thomas Hood, in The Book of Days, 1832
