Normally I would say that Trentin should have launched Mozzato. But Mozzato was on the perfect wheel, Brennan was just too strong. Shame for Philipsen, he looked so strong on the climbs

Tudor signing big names on Cristiano Ronaldo contracts and it turns out Trentin who they found in the bin in an alley behind the takeaway is their best rider.

Pity about Magnier's puncture as I have him and Brennan about equal in sprint speed.

What was Philipsen actually doing in that sprint? Seemed like he was in 20th position and made no effort to move forward

Throwing in multiple 'streets won't forget' attacks with like 120k to go like Floyd Landis.

Maybe he don't have the flat speed at the moment so thought he had to do something, wasn't looking good in Algarve to be honest, oh well I enjoyed it.

Perfect work by Visma. Not many sprinters would have lost with that leadout, but Brennan shows how good he is by winning by a country mile.
Flags indicating a huge tailwind, so probably easier to just gap the guy in your wheel

How exactly do you propose they could have won a sprint in this field?
It was more a comment on them eschewing any lead-out and going every man for himself, which is a tell tale sign of a team accepting two placements over one top five/top three, like Astana last year in the classics.

Obviously today they ended up getting 2nd and 3rd, but in general the no lead out tactic is a sign of points over podiums etc. Not a bad idea for Tudor anyway.

This race is not hilly and whatever happen to Lidl-Trek? Milan was virtually absent and their devo rider was their sole survivor in the lead group.

Their riders are weak and not so talented. The best one is Álvarez, which for me is the next big líder in Lidl in this races.

They have a problem, without Mads they are lost. Of course Vacek and Soderqvist are good riders but they dont have the level.
