Hang on, are Van Avermaet and Eeckhout really in the break? I'd have thought they'd be the main leaders of their teams.

Well, it's not like he has a chance in a sprint vs Cavendish, Greipel etc. Still a bit weird though, as he certainly was BMC's best chance.

True, but as you say, it's still weird to send their best chance in the break.

Blythe is probably a faster sprinter and he didn't race yesterday (although it seemed that Van Avermaet was mostly following the wheels).

Bagdonas should be the main rider for An Post.

It's GVA alright and the gap is shrinking. A bit puzzled about the tactic too, although GVA doesnt stand a chance in a pure sprint. But perhaps BMC is playing the others, ie. doing outta the box maneuvers in secondary races to keep all the others on their toes come the monuments.

Or perhaps I've been watching too much The Wire lately.

The other teams better start increasing the pace soon if they don't want to sprint against Cavendish.

Eeckhout is incredible.

Haven't noticed Farrar at the font at all. Jack Bauer was on the front for Garmin for a bit.

My stream is extremely bad in quality. Was that Farrar on the front of the pack just now?

knobhead spectators again, yet to reach yesterday's heights of idiocy. Lock 'em up for public order offences.

Anyone know the breaks?

GVA, Eeckhout, Fouchard, Baugnies, Barbe, van Hecke out in front.

Boonen, Ballan, Boom, van Summeren, Hayman, Stanard, Gatto and a few others broke away from peloton a few mins ago.

According to the ticker: - "The Van Avermaet group has 1:56 on Boonen and the bunch is 2:30 back."

Rabobank are working at front of 2nd group but who for?

They're trying to race, and they don't have a sprinter who can win this race. Bol and Van Winden are reasonably quick.
