the agr has always been the race that suited him most. he also won in 2010 when he was a lot less strong than in 2011. fleche is the race that suits him the least

Piti, not Phil (I was about to make the same mistake )

Phil's view on the new course ...

"This route seems to favor a breakaway that may start from far away, or even more riders might come to the finish together. I think the race will probably be easier than before, which does not necessarily plays in my favor."

After AGR, Poels said he had stomach problems?

I think he might have faked it to concentrate on FW. It never seemed as if he wanted to do AGR, but in an earlier interview it seemed like Leo van Vliet had been on the phone with him to tell him it would be 'helpful' in preparation for the world's. To me, it looked like he was told to race AGR or otherwise he could forget making the national team.

Dang, I'm going for Duarte just for the hell of it. He was good in PB and it would be awesome if he pulled it off. Hope Anton does well, too.

Actually this would be a much better race if they skipped the last Mur de Huy.
Riders would need to atatck way mor earlxy and it would be a pretty cool race.

The clearly favourite is Andy Schleck.

actually he could be a favorite had he prepared accordingly to the race, but apparently he's on "mind training" ala LA-hog standards, plus there is no indication at all that he's "motivated" to race for the win price.........

If Andy continues like this, even the Luxemburger Wort will have to start critizising him. God forbid!

:p:p

I overlooked him on the startlist. Don't flip out jesus christ.
This is also why I normally don't open race topics. If you miss one name a fanboy WILL burn you down.

Nevertheless, well done. A fine intro.:) Has me even more excited about FW.

Phil said he's not far away anymore from his top shape. He's already talking about courses being too easy, good prospect.

Thanks :)

I'm looking forward to how the new finale is. Even if Gilbert says it's easier the new hills were implemented because they are steeper. So that kinda contradicts Gilbert. We'll see tomorrow I guess!

Given how the entire peloton are racing nowadays it'll probably be easy either way...Hopefully someone actually dares to attack early tomorrow, but I highly doubt it.

Can't remember who is was now but there's an interview out there from Amstel attacking those who said it was boring, everyone was on the limit for the last hour, it is such a hard parcours.
