Where can you bet on the probability of a reduced breakaway group?
Arriving first in the last 1300 meters, the odds must be low.
Surviving the favorite field to the line, or 1-2 of the favorites in a reduced breakaway group could be interesting, but these years - low chance.
If for nothing else, just to have an excuse for reserving more TV time than 3 minutes.

Lenny was 4th last year and looks in much better condition so he's my pick, Seixas a big unknown, not sure if he is more a man for the long mountains rather than a mur, but we will find out here. Evenepoel looks strong but not as much on the steeper stuff.

Yeah, the race is really suffering from missing a man whose one day race record is worse than Vingegaard's.
his record as an uphill finisher is superior to gregoire

Besides the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de France, this is the one race missing from Roglic's palmares (in my opinion). I think he had the potential to be the best rider in history on the Mur de Huy. That he has not even won it once is a real shame.

The crazy thing about Fleche is that I think it was won from a break every single time since the finish was moved to the Mur de Huy, only to then be won from the peloton for the last 20 years every time.

If this race was not on a Wednesday, I think it would have been won from a break 2-3 times in the last 20 years. It is absolutely not as impossible as some peole make it out to be. Evenepoel or Pogacar could have it probably done if their team went all in for them, but sadly they are not even starting.

The real shame is that Rogla rode it only once(!)

This!
@CyclistAbi and @Red Rick and @Rackham approving

According to Wiki Rogla has taken part only in one FW edition! Is this a joke?

Unfortunately you can't shot an arrow without a bow.

If the team ever decides to fully support Rogla, sharpen him with selfless support on some build up races and after delivers him in a good position on the ultimate climb, then we can talk.

This race reminds me a picture of Moreno Argentin with Miguel Indurain in a breakaway in the rain. That was 36 years ago and I was young and innocent lol.

While Seixas is maybe not a real alien yet, he is definitely the rider present that has shown a lot of signs of becoming one.

Clear favorite for me here, if he is capable of producing the efforts that got him clear of everybody except Pogacar in previous races he will win this one against the humans.

Vauquelin can't really win this race in normal conditions (the two second places in the rain are a bit of a mirage).

Seixas is the favourite, but Mur de Huy is a bit of a special type of effort where it is difficult to tell how well somone will do until you have seen it at least once. His explosivity is also not the best in history. What he has going for him here is that he is the best overall rider at the start.

Skjelmose or Martinez could also win.

A proper race this.

No dumb long range attacks.
A doomed breakaway, a useless attack on Cherave and then a nice uphill sprint.

Ciclismo is back.

Yeah, they should just start the race in Huy for a more intense, 3 km experience. 200 km intro is a bit too much.
