Did that look so much faster than some of the Valverde ascents? Like they actually went decently hard most of it or am I imagining things

Porte moved up from the back to the front, attacked too early and still finished top-10.

Either he is in super form, or everyone dawdled for the first half.

Impressive month of Hirschi.
Chapeau!

Such a pity Vansevenant went offroad. Would've been even more exciting.
Not a bad race at all.

Anybody saw the odds for Hirschi?? I need to start finding a site who provides bets for cycling.

Dan Martin was also way too far back and finished well. To be fair when Porte was done there were only 11-12 guys still close to him.

The level of the ‘also-rans’ was lower this year due to the obviously loaded schedule.

Vansevenant has superstar potential and it's nice to see Hirschi and Cosnefroy confirming their classics ability, but the race itself was pretty meh. And that new climb is followed by roads that make it easy for an organized chase.
