Floyd_MANZANO said:Well, folks I'd like to hear from my Hugh Januss and all the others, do you guys think Lance will be riding in the Tour?
flicker said:Floyd Manzano you rock. You are my favorite poster. Lance will still kick booty in the tour this year. I heard some rumors about Lance in the back alleys of the ToC down by the beach flats area. One was he came out of retirement to get that 1 more tour to put the record out of reach of Alberto....
Siriuscat said:.....Of course we need to put that record out of reach, just a shame about the other massive glaring holes in LA's palmares, Giro's, Vuelta's, a raft of classics. Pity at the end of his career the rampant sychophants are still clinging on to that last twig of hope that he might sneak his way to 8... I pray nightly that they find him out and that 7 become nil, zip, nada that would be just deserts not just for LA but for the sychophants and TWF's as well

Colm.Murphy said:WRT Lance and his performance, I attribute it to the time he had taken off. Losing that fine edge of the upper limit of performance does occur, and to me, it happens when the time off, and this does not factor age at all.

Floyd_MANZANO said:Okay, 2nd GC TourSuisse. I guess I really am just a know-nothing seminiferous tubloidial buttnoid.
I have to assume this is a clean performance. Why on Earth would Lance dope now? He's got all the money, palmares is great (although not Merckx-ish caliber).
Floyd_MANZANO said:What would be the reward for the risk of doping? Even more goodies and accolades?
BTW, I think it's certainly within the realm of human possibility that Lance won 7 Tours in a row clean. It's just incredibly unlikely that was the case.[/QUOTE]Floyd_MANZANO said:However, I think it's entirely possible he's juiced up. One thing the last few years have certainly shown, is how little has changed. Now more dopers are caught, but the doping amount is similar. Perhaps the peloton is 15% cleaner, certainly not more than that.
Floyd_MANZANO said:appreciate the posts about corruption in the UCI and the possible protecting of very big name riders.
Floyd_MANZANO said:This may very well be true. I also believe it's possible Lance has received doping help from sources in the highest levels in the USA who are interested in his status as big, international American role model and celebrity who presents the USA in a positive light and as "the best in the world".
Floyd_MANZANO said:Just like I personally believe Menchov is doped to the gills but never gets caught because he is Russia's current "banner" or "marquee" rider. These are totalitarian societies for whom masquerade is the only game in town and duplicity is the common currency. To think the USA is somehow different is the height of foolish naievete.
Floyd_MANZANO said:Hmmm, well isn't Basso in 2010 on his second year back at the top level after returning from time off...and he just won the Giro.
Anyway, Lance = 44th or whatev in TourSuisse prologue. The trend continues. Let's see where he stands on GC after the final stage.
Geez, for a guy who won 7 Tours in a row, I'd really like to see at least one performance in 2010 that is remotely halfway decent.
Can't Lance use his massive strength of will and physical talent to at least put in ONE decent ride (regardless of his recent "setbacks"/lack of condition)??![]()
SpartacusRox said:Second in the TdS good enough for you?
By the way perhaps you should apply your superior logic to Andy Schleck who really HAS done nothing this season. I take it that you are not expecting him to feature in the Tour either? I won't even bother discussing Denny Menchov.
Also, doping or no doping, I think that LA knows a little more than you do on what is required to be in his best shape for the Tour. Whether that 'best shape' will be good enough or not remains to be seen.

WHY would he be faster than his helpers, come 2 weeks?

EDIT: to mollify the mods for posting 'off topic', it's clear what old dog Lance has been up to riding around the Alpe Maritime. Is Lance courting disaster for the Tour? He is virtually inviting the Gendarmerie to raid his hotel this year. If he starts thats is.
