For a moment there i thought Dekker would make a very suprising victory there. In the end though it seemed like he had nothing left to keep it to the line.

Sénéchal and Nizzolo were both cooked after closing down that late attack by Kirsch and couldn't recover when Venturini started his sprint early.

Great result for Hofstetter and Israel Startup Nation.
I was almost sure Nizzolo would take it, but riding near the front for the whole race seems to cost him at the end.
Not a bad racing.

Really nice race, I enjoyed it.

Never saw the winning rider all day (or ever really), but well done!

Great racing once again in Le Samyn. One of the best semi classics in the past few years.

Is it just me or was Sénéchal a bit dissapointing?
I expected him in the bigger classics, such as RVV or Roubaix as an outsider but then he should have been able to drop the sprinters on the cobbles in Le Samyn.

I just watched the race last night on replay. Great final 20 kms, had no idea who would win. Hofstetter was ecstatic -- great to see that enthusiasm. Also interesting to see the range of kit - some riders toughing it out with no gloves or just a cuissard, while others had leg/arm warmers, shoes covers, long gloves. Hofstetter was gloveless.

In that kind of weather I dress like an eskimo. I lose heat instantly and once it's gone i can never get it back.
