I hate to say this, but we all are responsable for our own actions. I do not lie, that is life my friend.

I do not like to see suicide. I would put more blame on his family not giving him support when Leon needed it.

You are some piece of sh**. I cannot believe you just said this.

My minister commited suicide. Did I blame myself? Drug issues and alcohol issues usually come from core family value issues. Personal, family experience, drunk driving deaths dude 1 family member off a cliff in Big Sur, two family members killed in solo accident in the California desert. My own experience around drugs and alcohol.
I am sorry about his death. Maybe his family could have helped. Who knows, but I am experienced around these issues, personally. I speak from much experience.

Anyone who blames a death on the doping apologists(whatever that means) is living in their own world of denial. Sorry to take the blinders off digger.

I call a spade a spade. Some parents of suicide victims who jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge want to net the sides of the bridge so it does not happen again to someone elses family member. At our cost(taxpayers, people who want to see a clear vista of the SF Bay Area.) Not to mention the bridge isn't built to have a sail put on it! It could cause a catastrophic failure to the bridge at a later date. Most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

flicker, that is a fool's response. And you should be ashamed.

Blaming the family is the easy way out. Maybe that works for your family, but I wouldn't call that the voice of experience if that is the case.

Dave.

Sad to see he died. He may have been less than ethical in his sporting life but he was still a friend, brother and son to others.

I'm not going to edit or remove any of the insensitive comments here because technically they don't violate our forum rules, but I will ask the members who posted said comments to perhaps reconsider and do it themselves.

And for the rest of you who may be tempted to post - please remember that, to the friends and family of this man, there was more to him than the unfortunate choices which landed him in the spotlight.

It's just sad that he couldn't see this and chose to end his life (if it was indeed suicide, which we don't know for sure)...

Let's be more sensitive, ok?

OK guys, we had a wee discussion behind the scenes and we feel that this thread is staying far too speculative about who is to blame, all based on a few lines and without knowing what the family relationships actually were, or why there was a divorce, etc.

Something tragic happened to a rider and those around him. If folk here can't exercise any self-restraint, and start to blame family and close ones left right and centre, then, out of respect to those that have a tragedy on their hands, we will simply inject some compassion here and stop the inappropriate speculation and blame game altogether.

Thread closed.
