AG2R is my favourite, I'd love to buy it but it's quite expensive

But there is this.....brown.
Ok, personal taste.
But I definitely hate to see these brown bibs and the Movistar helmets.

My ranking:
1. I find BMC jersey quit nice, but "BMC" is too big and everywhere.
2. Rabobank has nice edition this year.
3. Sky looks as good as last season, british understatement but looks good.
4. When I saw only the RS jersey I thought, ok at least better than last year.
But seeing the full kit I think it looks quiet good. But "R" in front is too big.
5. THC Highroad looks good with yellow and more black.

I'm surprised at how many of you are upset about the lack of advertising, that visual blight of our times.

Now that LEOPARD TREK has a very wins, it is very apparent that there jerseys suck.

What winning rider doesn't want to show off their sponsers on a cool jersey?

Well, I guess LEOPARD TREK doesn't want their names out there.

FC and FS look like they have a blank piece of paper on their chests.

wow, i guess you just can't handle it when someone or something is different??

i have no problem with the jersey, it has a kind of old school elegance to it, plus the fact they're not shouting some sponsors name all over the place is nice for a change.

Maybe when Frank did the fram around his jersey after his win today, it was a call to people. "Who wants to sponsor us"

Great jersey, particularly now that they win from time to time.

Not influenced by ugly corporate logos or style.

Nice, simple and cool.

Maybe throw in some charity sponsoring instead of a blank.
UNICEF UNHCR, that sort of stuff. Do a Barcelona before payment to players got totally out of hand.

I can't quite believe how many cyclists seem to be slaves to commerce! Why the hell does everything have to be branded??? The reason I like the Leopard jersey so much is precisely because of the lack of sponsors and because those that are there are discreet...

Do we all have to be told what to buy every second of the day? If you just want to be constantly covered in businessmen's semen you really need to get a life!!!

No honestly I like it and I have read quite a few positive responses even on this forum. I guess it all depends on the different cultures and such: the readers of cyclismactu.net voted it best jersey in the 2011 peloton.

Yes, but looking at that website I see that it refers to the Dutch as the "peuple batave," indicating that their tastes haven't developed much since the fall of Napoleon.

Indeed. The fact they don't have a huge brand printed across their jersey is a huge plus for me.

Yes, LEOPARD-TREK®™ is the perfect example of a team that isn't completely governed by the rules of commerce and marketing

That's not actually what I said though was it? You can't get away from it completely can you? But it is nice when it isn't in your face...

The point is us not them... Why are some people moaning because there isn't branding all over it?

And anyway at the moment (and I'm sure it will change) I like the fact that they aren't covered in loads of in your face branding...

I would love to see their jerseys with a big box in the middle that says 'YOUR NAME HERE' like those cheesy magazine adds that are looking for companies to buy add space. Or 'SPACE AVAILABLE' like a vacant billboard. That would get the point across.
CX'er Dlask did this in 2009 I think.
He rode with a big questionmark on his shirt, looking for a main sponsor.

I don't know if it will change anytime soon. The team is just as good if not better than Saxo Bank last year and Bjarne Riis had huge trouble finding a sponsor, despite Cancellara's victories and the fact that he was actively (desperately) searching for one all season.

I'm sure Nygaard & Co. would be happy to have a sponsor, but the fact of the matter is they don't need one - they have funding in place for four years. Therefore I think they are not actively searching for one at the moment and it could be a while before they have one, even if Cancellara should repeat his triple this year.

I think there are some big changes in sponsorship going on right now. So far we have LEOPARD TREK, BMC, Quick Step, Katusha, Astana and HTC High Road who are in some way financed by one or several millionaires IIANM. Slipstream was started in a similar fashion a couple of years ago. Another new trend also seems to be cycling companies entering sponsorship such as Shimano, Cervélo, Trek, Cannondale, ISD and BMC.

There are some teams who have a long term sponsor who has been in the business for a long time: Rabobank, AG2R, Lotto or Euskaltel for example. Other teams have had a lot of trouble finding a new sponsor, such as Movistar, Europcar and SunGard, and there are teams with a very uncertain future such as RadioShack and Saxo Bank. The only real exceptions to all this would be Sky and Geox in recent years.

Since the gains of sponsoring in cycling are difficult to determine, it may be the millionaires and aficionados who will take over the teams in this economy. We already see this scheme in Formula 1 (Millionaire - Auto company) and in football to some extend (Chelsea, Hoffenheim) and it seems to function pretty well.

I also like the Leopard Trek shirt. I think everyone knows who they are, so maybe it's not necessary to mat it in HUGE print across the front. And I also agree about AG2R... it is probably my favorite kit. I've always had a soft spot for the Liquigas kit too.

Death by a thousand cuts...

Anyway, the more I look at it, the better the Leopard/Trek jersey looks. I am converting a bit. I think the thing that bothers me is the blue bar, maybe if they had done some accent vertical rather than horizontal I would like it better. The lack of sponsor thing doesn't really matter to me.

It pays there bills.

Cycling allways has been commercial.

I presume you own a bike. it's branded, count the adverts on it. Include saddle, tires, runners or shoes, even your helmet. I would also presume you do go out in public with it. You dont even get a penny to advertise.

If you want a sport to be commercial free good luck finding it
