So the winner gets a goat?
Yes. He'll have to win Tro Bro Leon now to get a piglet friend for his goat :)

That's one way to start a farm...
The winner isn't the one who gets the piglet, from what I know the top placed Breton is the one who gets the piglet.

It was basically a replay of the P-N, only this time you got the impression that Yates clearly was the strongest rider, whereas in Nice he took them by surprise and none of Contador, Henao etc. really bothered that much.

His brother got the win at San Sebastián in similar circumstances, though then it was a really top quality group that botched the chase.

His brother won because GVA was driven off the road by a motorbike.

No way GVA was going to win that race! Chase was right behind and toughest part of the climb was still to come, and Yates actually benefited from that GVA/moto crash.

Justin Jules won the first stage of Circuit Cycliste Sarthe, pretty impressive sprint. Vichot second, Vendrame third. 2017 is going well for Jules.

Not bad for a neopro like Vendrame, he finished ahead of Calmejane who's flying at the moment.

Is Vendrame a propper puncheur or more of a Sprinter who is good uphill?

Well he came 2nd in U23 Lombardia last year. I know U23 versions of monuments are easier but if a sprinter can come 2nd even on an easier version of Lombardia, that race should be banned and everyone involved in organising it imprisoned.

.

Yes. I know the results. He also came 3rd in Plumlec. It's just that under 23 level races are much easier. When I meant Hilly Sprinter it's the likes of Matthews, Swift, Nizzolo who came to mind.

He's great in hilly one day races, he already finished 4th in the 2016 Coppa Sabatini before even turning pro. Last year he was out for 3 months because he got hit by a truck on a training ride. His biggest dream is winning the RVV, frankly I don't really know if he's a proper puncheur, but he's not that great as a sprinter, even in a small group he's usually not the winner, he's fast enough to be one of the fastest, but usually there's someone faster than him.

I've been a fan since he won the 2015 Giro Belvedere, but back then he attacked earlier and was able to hold on.
That was a great race, Robert Power destroyed everyone on the final climb, but they cought him, Herklotz went crazy on the descent and was also able to catch up to Power's group and in the end Mühlberger (who was climbing better than Herklotz, but of course not as good as Power who was just on another level) won the sprint for 2nd.

Back to Sarthe, today Matteo Malucelli finished 2nd behind Coquard on the sprint stage, he's also having a good first season as a neopro.

Lilian Calmejane won the 'queen stage' of Circuit de la Sarthe after attacking with 20km to go. He has a good chance to win the race.

I'm really looking forward to him in the Ardennes.

Coquard wins last stage ahead of Venturini and Bennati.

Vichot tried to gerrans Calmejane (i.e winning on bonus seconds) but didn't succeed.

Markus Hoelgaard won stage one of Circuit des Ardennes. Related to Daniel Hoelgaard?
Yes, I checked; they're both Norwegians. :p
