That's a seriously brutal time trial won by Rodrigo Contreras in the Vuelta a Colombia today. 33km mountain TT with 31.5 of them being uninterrupted climbing (though some shallow gradients towards the top).

Del Toro & UAE at Getxo, the old 1,2 although Ayuso looked better then on Saturday. Off to some "altitude training" now before the Vuelta, I guess.

Why, are there no more pointless 1.1s so they can test themselves against Agadir Velo Propulsion, Dukla Banská Bystricá, EuroCyclingTrips-CCN, Karcag Cycling Epkar Team, Motala AIF Continental, Pierre Baguette, Sparkle-Oita, Standard Insurance PHI, Tommi's Radltankstelle Team and Uijeongbu Cycling Team?

Tomorrow Del Toro will bully Iles Balears Arabay… Wait no, there are also guys like Landa, Bernal, Hindley and Ciccone here in Burgos.

Peter Øxenberg debuts with the pros after transferring to Ineos already mid-season.

Tipping up to all these .1s and not even having the decency to do the Volta, must've seen Alexis Guerin in top form and realised this was no place to try and farm a few easy wins.

Speaking of, Moreira isn't doing it this year, number of issues according to Ace:

Could be an interesting finale from 120km (44km to go)

143km to go now. Peloton together.

Streams will be available.

Anicolor just found out about the magic of altitude training and had a Sierra Nevada training camp for the Volta, so I expect them to be back on track.

Hmm... am I the only one who has a suspicion that if this was the final stage, there might be a few people getting to the finish the first time, and just thinking:
"Naaah... I'm just gonna stop here."

They're approaching Portes!

Nevermind, already there.

(Well, they've been approaching Portes all day, but now they're approaching it more.)
