Stronger finish than I expected, but it's also clear that he is desperate for consistent results to show for the legs he has if he still wants to make it to the WT.

Ok in that sense I kinda get it ngl, but it still looks very weird/stupid imo from a spectator perspective.

You are obviously never ever winning like that. It's a very weird move.

Also pretty weird ride from Johanninck/TDT honestly today when you have Kubis in peloton and obviously don't have anything left anymore.
Someone had to chase the Flanders rider. Larsen blinked first. Not exactly an exceptional event. And on a cobbled finish, it's even a bit less punishing to have the front (also with the corner, but yeah, of course he didn't win, but he wouldn't have in any event as soon as Lanhove had his gap.

Blinking first there is your death sentence, everyone knows it. And the last thing isnt true, you gamble on one of the favorites in that group to do it, if they don't do it, yeah too bad, but you always gamble on that. It's a dumb move, pretty obvious. He rode for a poidum, he got it. It's fine. It is a good result for him, but if he wanted to win he had to attack himself.

Charmic (sp?) of Astana went solo on last climb, Herrada + another chasing, Arkea-led chase group at 45', peloton not that far back of them. 25 km to go

I watch all races and Plapp manages to hang on descents and i stress hang on. Its obvious today he has not lost it on the descent, but on the ascent. There is no way hepburn should be two minutes ahead and there is no indication Plapp has crashed. He's had a bad day which unfortunately has happened too often for Jayco in 2025.
He can do well in the relatively stress-free Aussie and Middle-Eastern races, but in Europe, his numerous limitations nearly always become apparent. I hope Jayco are sending him to the Giro as a stage hunter/KOM contender? No pressure, and no aliens to dominate every stage.

No wet descent for Van Gils too lose it on today. Ion Izagirre probably on the podium in his one super week per year.
