Aranburu's good finish countered somewhat by Astana sh*thousing a Greek race against cyclotourists and some pro-conti strava guys and Velasco getting 8th here.

What a classic battle it's been thus far. Scaroni's return will surely come sooner rather than later.

Van Gils went down with Ion?

Fishy Finn best RedBull rider in 17th, Onley 16th (just 5 UCI points).

Ion took an Astana rider with him, or at least that's what we could see. We also saw a Movistar rider standing up after a crash afterwards, but I did not see any Van Gils, but that obviously does not mean he didn't crash, cause I think he was like 3 positions behind Ion when it happened.

EDIT: he's not in the group anymore after the crash, so yeah either held up or crashed.

If he was just held up by it, I guess I'm allowed to celebrate that as karma.

Fee bad including Van Gils because he looked ok early season but RedBull have spent millions on one day riders and have been routinely nowhere. It reminds me of all those years ago when Spurs sold Gareth Bale and just went with the kitchen sink approach. Paulinho, Capoue, Soldado, Lazkano, Pithie, "Finn Fisherman Black".

Roglic to Flanders is the only sensible move at this point.

If I was like Belgian press i could just ignore context now and say that Maxim Van Gils has been 10 times worse at Red Bull than at Lotto cause he went from top 10 on the UCI ranking to like top 40 in no time.

Van Gils at 5min so he's fine

Ulissi takes 3 seconds, maire 1. Now they are in equal time, but maire is in front because of his stage win. I would have thought it still should be one second gap, but somehow they list ulissi as the intermediate sprint winner yesterday, i thought lopez was in front of him. 2 bonus sprints left, they will surely try again

"has a win" is a dead heat rule for the points classification only. For GC, the stage results are added, meaning Ulissi is now (virtually) in front by 3 positions.

Maire takes back one second at the last intermediate sprint. This should secure Ulissis fourth place. Astana tried afterwards to go clear with ulissi, syritsa and lopez, but were caught
