Weird to put him on the startlist given he just won a medal on the EC track.
It's probably because of their current injury-ridden roster.

There's 3 days in between. That should not have been a problem at all (Leitao is also riding btw). He was always on the start list. The deal is that De Buyst can do his track stuff as long as he's available when needed. He's probably sick (again). And Lotto doesn't have anyone else left. Those devo's weren't planned either initially. Too many unfit riders combined with Van Moer, Segaert, Livyns and Beullens still being on altitude camp for some reason.

Apparently Almeria is not a very memorable race...

Anders Lund had forgotten that he'd ridden it.
I can kinda see why...

I wish Nairo well but I'm heading over to France (via VPN) to the Tour de la Provence because while there is a break in Almeira I need some nicer scenery. Almeira just looks so flat, drab, and industrial, except for some palm trees there isn't much to look at.
