For one second they didn't finish with him; if they had, Bennett would have set the time for the group.I wouldn't call beating them for 4th "launching" them...
With Pinarello ahead, he shouldn't have made that sprint.

Pinarello has been doing well this year. He hasn't really raced long climbs like that this year but he was coming top 10 up the muri in Tirreno-AdriaticoTomorrow is the harder climb? 5.1km at 9.4% Nordhagen and Yates will duke it out there
The cobbled climb is considerably tougher than today's. Besides, it's the stage finish, so the climbers are expected to push harder.Tomorrow is the harder climb? 5.1km at 9.4% Nordhagen and Yates will duke it out there
Indeed - he will be in there too most likely but that climb seems a good fit for the other two (Yates Green mountain type climb)Pinarello has been doing well this year. He hasn't really raced long climbs like that this year but he was coming top 10 up the muri in Tirreno-Adriatico
yeah. Which should normally have resulted in Pinarello being a second ahead, but they also deleted the gap between Bennett and Yates.looks like the provisional gc didnt have any of the bonus sprints factored in , only the bonus seconds at the finish line
if his total bike length is 1.67 m , hed have needed to ride at least 60.7 km/h over the finish line for the gap to be a whole secondyeah. Which should normally have resulted in Pinarello being a second ahead, but they also deleted the gap between Bennett and Yates.
In the live timing the gap was >1s, but that's from front wheel to front wheel, I suppose.
yes, I first thought they may have changed it to try to cover their mistake, but looks like this is correct indeed.if his total bike length is 1.67 m , hed have needed to ride at least 60.7 km/h over the finish line for the gap to be a whole second
