We're less then a week away from the start of the European season - yep, hard to believe but 23rd Jan is the
Classica Camp de Morvedre and it's a 1.1 race so expect the race for UCI points to begin.

I missed it today, but seems like there indeed were two hours of live coverage of the prologue, won by Fergus Browning from Terengganu.

It's India's first ever UCI stage race, and to start with a Grand Tour directly, they obviously needed live tv.

here's what's coming up the next couple of days. Stage 2 should be decisive, I guess. According to la Flamme Rouge, the final climb is 1.8km at 8.7%

Classica Camp de Morvedre is on tonight (my time). Ivan Romeo, Michael Matthews, Clement Champoussin, Antonio Tiberi and Christian Scaroni probably the favourites.

Exiting finish in Tour of Sharjah. Three riders from the break managed to stay ahead of the bunch (just).
Jens Reynders wins ahead of an UAE dev rider and Nespoli form MBH Bank finishes third.

Is there a reason they don't use Al Suhub in the UAE Tour? With all these boring middle eastern profiles you see for the televised races it's sometimes easy to forget you have the terrain to hold actual Grand Tours in some of these countries.

Iirc it has to do with inter-Emirati politics.
