I am surprised that Liam walsh cant get a a gig at Pro level. he's around rajovic's level who won a race in Europe this year, while last year walsh beat lamperti in a stage of the Czech tour.

Philipsen looks like the fav at Nokere Koerse today - otherwise a lot of sprinter guys who hope for a win; Jakobsen, Ackermann, Meeus, etc etc. The "other" 19 year old next-big-thing, Within Philipsen, getting some race experience.

It makes sense why the old finale on Nokereberg has been consigned to the dustbin of history, but last year's edition made pretty clear that the new finish suits a different kind of sprinter than the old one. If there's any kind of sprint where Ackermann and Jakobsen can still play a major role, it's certainly not this one.

I'm very interested to see how Tom Crabbe can go against this level of opposition. The finish itself should suit him perfectly, but he is unproven when it comes to making it into the kind of reduced bunch that always emerges after the cobbles here.
