Buchmann, is the living evidence how much cycling changed in the last years. From 4th in the Tour de France and Podium at the Criterium de Dauphine - to mention him as last Person in an MTF in the tour of turkiye. From my Point of View he didnt get slower but he was also Not progressing. No punch/kick and no TT - just good climbing is Not enough these days.

surely not enough, but Turkey could still be a decent race for him, although more likely the long climb later in the race.

Yesterday he lost a minute due to a mechanical, but in this field it honestly shouldn't matter much. In his prime, he'd still win GC.

How are you going from sticking in attacks on Adam Yates and the others to getting dropped by a tepid Geoffrey Bouchard pace not a week later.

Where are the unknown Turkish conti riders looking incredible doing the entire climb in the big ring anyway.
