Both Van der Poel and Thomas are dropped.
And signs of life from Ardila.Hayter wins in front of Sobrero.
If he continues to develop like this Ineos might see him as the next British rider to put on a weight loss programm.Hayter is an quite the climber/puncheur.
when he is allowed to ride for Ethan Hayter.
Feels like the olden days...waiting for the newspaper to be printed or the ilk.An hour after the race has finished, still no results beyond the top-10 of the stage...

Since when is Sobrero this good on such a steep, punchy uphill finish?
He did well on that brutal Murito in Slovenia last year, but this one looks like a more explosive effort.
Hayter is allowed to ride for himself often, the problem is that he seems to have been afflicted with a bad case of peloton yips. Pretty much every race day this year, he's just refused to be anywhere but the back of the peloton for the vast majority of the race and has completely thrown away results that he could have achieved if in good position. Certainly had the form to make the front group in MSR, did a very strong sprint in PN, problem was he started sprinting at 500m to go while 50m behind the front of the peloton so only ended up 9th but was faster than everyone else in that final stretch. Sat out of position in stage 1 and 2 of Tour of Provence, both stages he could have easily won, got dropped when the crosswinds split the group on stage 1, on 2 sat at the back of the group on the decisive climb the entire time but never dropped with many riders dropping around him, then got caught behind a split on the descent.Hayter is an quite the climber/puncheur.

Ineos is so strong here that they might find a way to get Dunbar a stage win, but his lack of sprint / punch clearly limits him.Dunbar is somehow going to manage to come second in just about every stage and the GC without actually getting a win
