Almost the worst possible outcome. Demi has to be the one who loses over two minutes to create any excitement. I hope Chabbey gets the win, but I wouldn't mind Santesteban pulling it off either.

Any explanations as to why being provided?
Well both are down to do the Hageland, which clashes date wise, Vw you might assume are down on riders availability & costs. UAE could have sent their development team to either, but maybe they see the Giro with ELB as their TdFF prep, not the TDS

Suisse is a WWT race, so they wouldn't be able to sent the devo team.

The gap has come down slightly, if the GPS can be trusted, but they're obviously not gonna catch them.

In which case send the Dev team to Belgium which isn't, they've got 19 riders on the books you'd think that would be enough to rotate through all the races.

So I can't really say why they've pulled out.

4 years and a day since she beat Deignan in that sprint in Suisse and 4 years since she lost the race the next day.

Also Demi + a Swiss doctor seems like a perfect combo. Time will tell whether she's also gonna team up with Häberlin one day.

Stage 3 preview ToBW

Into Scotland and the Scottish Borders for the official Queen Stage of the race. 143.8km with 2125m of elevation gain, expect lots of camera shots of hairy coos to fill in for scenery

Santesteban pulling it off when outnumbered two to one when she has very little explosivity and no sprint was sadly never going to happen, but given the climbing field in the race it could well have been that this trio would have settled the podium anyway.
