I rooted for the breakaway, but at least SD Worx had to work hard for it. SQS - AGI and Jayco shouldn't have helped them through.

First 'official' edition of RVV for juniors tomorrow and could be a very interesting race. Molengraff would be a natural favourite(?), but this is only her second race day on the road. OTOH plenty of CX riders have already had successful seasons and you'd expect them to be more suited to the cobbles - Gery, Venturelli, Ferguson, Moors, Van Sinaey. No Holmgren twins it appears unfortunately.

Pretty unlikely I know, but does anyone know if this will be televised?

Apparently there is streaming on Proximus:

Van Anrooij was the only going with Vollering, but she might pay for that now. Dygert doesn't look too bad at this point on the climb.

Van Anrooij should have maybe held the wheel a tiny bit longer (easier said than done, of course) because now there's a long stretch where Vollering might have had a hard time dropping her.

That would have been ideal of course.

Cat Ferguson won the RVV junior race in a sprint from a front group tgat included most of the favourites.

Dygert exploded quite spectacularly there at the end. I think Van Anrooij got herself on the podium with that ride?

Yeah, Van Anrooij finished second. It looked like she was about to lose ground to Moolman-Pasio, but she still had an acceleration left at the line unlike the South African.

only 4secs in it in the end on GC between those two.

but its when you look at the stage results and think so Cecilie was in this race too ?:p

Dygert will do better with more experience and patience on these type of climbs - Anyway, she is a monty for the World's ITT.

Most of the junior races are 60-70 km, so it's not just a RVV issue.

isnt the max like 80km anyway ? 62 is probably the lower end of most races for them, maybe they dialled it back because of the climbs/cobbles involved), but the world champ race in Glasgow is only 70km for instance , so its not radically shortened by any means.

And of course they also need to be somewhat proportional to the elite distances. That said, the riders are of course capable of riding for more than two hours.

interesting that despite SDWorx winning all the stages, and having the most 1/2s, it was Canyon Sram who took the team classification at Vuelta a burgos feminas.

Surely it needs to be changed when you consider that without an under 23 category then riders are jumping to 130 and 140km races - It makes no sense from a professional point of view.

I know its not the official start list quite yet, and learnt years ago not to trust official race websites for accurate info, but I was suprised that Lizzie D is only named as a reserve rider on the Ride London Classique teams page for Trek at the moment, given they went through that whole the last time she rode in London it was for 2012 promo boost the other week, it sounded like she was a definite.

but shes not on the ProCyclingStats list either. (not withstanding maybe theyve just taken the same info from the Ride London website, but they tend to get better info than that)

obviously a race made for a sprinter like Balsamo, given SD Worx are not bothering competing, so I doubt she'd have been in contention much, but just seems weird they and her were promoting she was racing it via social media, but now looks not to be the case.

Demi crush happened again. It was inevitable. Van Anrooij was impressive, with some gumption to hang with Vollering as long as she did. Dygert imploded a bit, but she still looks very promising. I didn't expect her to do well on the long climb.
