I am surprised that Brown is not at the Simac Tour where she could show off the rainbow jersey, but, more importantly, she could contend for GC if she does a strong ITT. I also find it interesting that she is retiring because she has to spend too much time in Europe, yet, she has taken on the role of CPA President which will necessitate her spending some time in Europe.

She was busy being anonymous at the Tre Valli Varesine instead, which Cedrine Kerbaol won btw

Maybe FDJ who did both that and Giro Dell Emilia, but appear to have declined the Simac tour felt more points were on offer than up against the usual suspects in a stacked stage race. Or they are down to the bare bones in terms of rider availability at this stage of the season

It's the Cyclists' Alliance, not the CPA, and it doesn't have that much power, because it's not recognised by the UCI. I don't know what the workload of that position is, but she definitely won't have to spend as much time in Europe as she's been doing as a rider. The new VP of the TCA will probably also be someone who lives in Europe.

Sorry, I meant the Cyclists Alliance. It's still a strange move. Anyway, Brown is an ambassador for the new Pro-league in Australia so she will be busy. It's criminal that she was not send to the Simac Tour as she would have blitzed that ITT.

Thought it would have been a great marketing opportunity for the team to show off the rainbow bands and probably get a win.

I was interested in Zoe backstedt's post race interview when she stated, she was given encouragement from her Dad who was in the car. I thought Magnus left the team before the TDF?

Are you sure it isn't her own decision? If she had raced Simac, she wouldn't be able to ride Chrono des Nations on Sunday, which suits her better than a 10 km time trial.

I thought he was still employed by them for this season.

But he had removed himself from the TdFF due to a disagreement with Ronny Lauke about tactics.

So yes might end up at UAE...as he's on the market for another job

Whatever disagreement they had, I think Lauke has been vindicated :)

Zoe has just one teammate left btw. Dygert, Paladin, and Van der Duin DNS today.

Also in other news Grace Brown actually abandoned the race yesterday due to the unsafe conditions. I did wonder why the men's race was deemed unacceptable to race in the near same conditions the women did.

Apparently they tried to raise it with the commissaires, along with Brodie Chapman, the commissaires just ignored the riders and they succeeded only in themselves being dropped from the peloton, clearly some in the race disagreed with their stance and kept racing, but hence alot of the DNFs were riders abandoning for safety.

So plenty of work to do in the CPA

It didn't really sound like there was a clear agreement between the teams and riders about a cancellation though, unlike in the men's race, and Chapman's tweets also indicated she wasn't sure the commissaires had understood what they were saying.
