...and even then, there's enough bonus seconds at hand that it's a complete waste of time to even try.

The only question is going to be whether the amount Little Miss Contract Law can gather enables her to overcome Bjørgen and whether that causes any fractiousness in the team, but even that, while it may result in more entertainment, is Morton's Fork.

To me, all skiers are obscure.

I vaguely remember some French guy called Keely when I was a kid, and a Swedish slalommer called Telemark or something similar. Maybe an Austrian with initials MM, don't know why that comes to mind, but since then, nothing.

Edit: Oh, and Eddie the Eagle, is ski jumping counts. In which case Roglic as well.

But that's why I frequent a cycling forum rather than a skiing one.

So who does she thank for helping her in her mandatory interview every day?

Will Henderson and Alice Wood join forces with her big sister to make an unofficial Team GB? Can Magnus persuade Julia Borgstrom that it will be a victory for Sweden too, if she can help?

Well ones retiring, the other two are swapping teams...are they that committed to their current teammates ;)

Tbf as a Brit road and Cyclocrosser she's probably quite used to riding in this situation...alot :)

Just as a follow on to highlight that point so BC are doing rides of the year awards at the moment all 4 nominations they picked came from the Olympics, 3 of them involved the track team.

So no space for world champion Cat Ferguson, world champion Evie Richards,3 time national road race champion Pfeiffer Georgi.

You're doing it again... replacing the name of a well-known rider with some obscure skier...
What exactly am I doing again? I've done the name substitutions thing for years. There is a significant non-zero possibility that, worldwide, more people have heard of Marit Bjørgen than have heard of Lotte Kopecky.

That possibility may be becoming lower as Kopecky continues to achieve at the elite level, but it is still very much there.

Yes, exactly! You keep doing it... you can't expect people here to know - or even care - about random-ass skiers.

Sure...
However, I'm certain most people here - on this cycling forum - have heard about Lotte Kopecky; the two-time World Champion, and Paris-Roubaix winner. In fact, I'd say most people around here don't even give two flying fucks about boring stuff like skiing.

You can go talk about that stuff in the cafe...

And I do, when I am actually talking about skiing. It's just a running gag about Kopecky's characteristics and abilities, not actually discussing the career or work of Marit Bjørgen. I've done it often enough that it ought to be clear by now that when I state "Bjørgen" when talking about a women's bike race, I am referring to Kopecky.

Just the same as how I don't think Lorena Wiebes is actually a Roger Hargreaves character or believe Marianne Vos and Eddy Merckx, or Chris Horner and Rui Sousa, to be the same person.

But you still need to give a *** about boring-ass stuff like skiing to know how Bjørgen to know how to compares to Kopecky...
Sorry, I don't have a cheat-sheet of how you compare all those people from other *** sports to well-known famous cyclists.

There are a lot of things that I don't give a rat's ass about that get talked about on the forums too. That's the beauty of forums. Lots of different things can be talked about.

Yes, but you keep assuming everyone here knows who Marit *** Bjørgen is.

The rest of us don't going around comparing well-known cyclists to random-ass people from other sports.
I don't even assume everyone around here knows who Ellen Klinge or Tusnelda Svanholmer are, even though they are in fact cyclists.

Just... stop. It was lame first time you did it, it's still lame the millionth time you're doing it.
