It’s always wild to me that Jayco don’t send a team when Garcia always performs well at these races.
True. It’s just kind of weird you send off one of your top riders to get some of her better results of the season not wearing your shirt. Especially when she is kind of perfect for TDU.They're getting their best rider for these races to race free of costs, so I don't think they mind much.

Since she's never raced TDU in her career (although it isn't the longest in history despite her advanced age), I assume she's quite comfortable with not having to leave Mallorca/Spain before later in the season. Most of the riders who are going to UAE won't have done TDU either. But since the rest of their riders have been training in Spain anyway, it would of course have been possible to field a team on Mallorca.

I shall hope so but I will believe it when I see it.Their choice of calendar continues to be a concern. Of course Jayco should have a team at these races. Anyway, with Gene Bates back leading the team we should see an improvement in both tactics and the race calendar.
Loved that Abbie Mickey in a podcast called out stage one and stage three in the women's TDU as disappointing which is true. Seriously, half the peloton could have won stage one if allowed to break away like the winner.I shall hope so but I will believe it when I see it.
With her current form maybe she should rock up in Lieven on Saturday afternoon and relive the glories of 2016.Great ride by De Jong, who's continuing her rise to the top on the road. Kerbaol started too early, while Persico possibly should have gone into the read a little earlier, considering the sprint she had left in her at the end, but De Jong was the strongest anyway.

As much as I rate Woolaston, her winning this race, reflects on the passive racing of the women's pelton in the Australian summer of races.
The group was roughly the same size as it's been the last few years. The main differences were that the attacks were closed down this time around and Wollaston was on a great day and had a team to set her up.
Woolaston does not make that final if the race was ridden hard from the start. The teams ambled for the first 80 or 90kms of the stage.
