Maybe there is a spot on team porkskins for Levi?

I can confidently say the Levi has become a persona non grata fro many high profile team sponsors. If you run down the list, he's burned em all.......

Was Levi a real a$$hole in person or something? It seems like he was never liked by other US riders, and nobody seems to give a s**t that he wanted to ride. Anyone have the low-down on him?

He had nowhere to go. No Wold Tour team needs to hire a 39-year-old with doping baggage and no domestic team could come close to paying him what he is used to.

He had a long career and was paid very well. He does not seem like the type that was living extravagantly. He has to have a huge nest egg. In any case with 7500 riders at his gran fondo, he can skim a decent amount of cash off that as the organizer even if the "profit" is given to charity.

TommyD will go on forever. Like the Police Academy movies. It just doesn't stop.

it actually tix me off the way he has been parlaying 'Hollywood' connections into his lavish Ride with TommyD fundraisers...stay in luxury spas and on ....
lining his pockets while he was serving his 6 month 'break'...

and it continues...

I know that he is not the only one...but he didn't even have the brains and decency to stay under the radar a bit. at least big George and Levi understood that....

Good question. Let me do some quick math...

He sided with Lance against Alberto.

He then chose to sign up with Johan's Shack Pack.

He did commercials with Bob Roll.

I'd say we have a winner!

And then there were those farcical Optygen promos.

Towle calling bottle the King of the Amgen Tour of California.

yeah, has ringing meaning to it.

puts the Amgen in Amgen Tour of California. Do they pay him a bonus for endorsing their product?

the Amgen Tour Of California.

Speaking of the ATOC, does anyone know why they decided to change the route/course for the race this year? I've always thought they did at least part of the race in SoCal(usually in L.A.), but they seem to be totally avoiding that this year, why? I've enjoyed going to L.A. to watch it, was disappointed they aren't doing it this year.

The reason was this, Los Angeles shares the same initials as a certain drug cheat who may or may not have used the race sponsors product(other brands are available). So to avoid any bad press they missed out LA and other sports aren't going well in SoCal at the moment the Clippers and Lakers sucked ***, the Angels and Dodgers are currently sucking *** only the Kings are not sucking.

The calculations are not complete.

Following a breakthrough season in 2001 when he finished third overall at the Vuelta a España, Levi has since placed in the top 10 of the Tour de France four times, winning two stages.

And then there's the positive from 1996 that no one mentions: http://joepapp.blogspot.com/2010/04/levi-leipheimer-tested-positive-for.html

Levi and lifetime ban.... Hmmm I wonder if Thom Wiesel/Steve Johnson over at USA Cycling had anything to do with that not happening. Ya think?

I haven't heard a single nice thing about Levi from anyone, and I know people who know him well. Self-centered a-hole is the common description.
