This is proper racing. Finally the peloton understands how not to race for 2nd behind the pre race favorite

I mean, the peloton is racing for second behind Evenepoel now.

It was an accident involving Ion Izagirre that split the peloton.

him and Vendrame crashed, yeah. But we honestly don't know what happened first. If Red Bull already was pushing the pace before indeed, I see no reason to stop.

With Remco you can always hope that he flips his bike or blows up or both at least. And Bernal would be racing for 4th instead of 2nd if he didn‘t work here

Tick tock. This is a monument. Cycling is absolutely ruined when there's way too much bromance and no one is punished because "let's let the race favorite back in" reasons. No, as a spectator's sport this is way, way better.

It is only Remco upfront out of the favorites, but most teams have representation.

Most of all the other favorites for their respective teams are in the second group.

If the other teams want to gift Remco the win, sure.

If not, they should try to start new break from the first group... but I guess they all just tryna hang-on for as long possible at this pace. Which of course, will only favor Remco now.

That's fair, but then some people complain for other riders/teams when they work with Pogacar/UAE to secure better results for themselves.

Wellens was the one pulling. If you've seen Wellens after his accident, you'll better understand that 3-minute gap.
