Riders will the first group will be cooked by the time the real climbs begin.

The race opening up earlier is not good news for someone like Seixas though.
Typically racing in monuments like this is actually fairly favorable to riders who make it a long, consistent effort rather than riders trying to come back and pull minutes back with a later attack.

It is nice to see Pog under pressure, I just do not think the peloton is doing this consciously. Probably there will be some attacks from the first group and that will reduce the firepower and let the Pog group catch back on. Sham that there is no TV coverage

I'm just in it for the spectacle. I think Evenepoel is absolutely in the right here, even if it fails in the end.
Maybe you do, but I'd bet my life that if it were Pogacar (or VDP in another race) in front with the help of Ineos and Burgos, they'd be criticizing these teams for handing them the race.

The peloton should be able to catch the break even if it has 5 minutes at this point in the race. Remco might spend more energy than Pogi
Not really sure thats true when its a 50 man break and Remco is the TT world champion as well as former winner in Liege

Because then not only will Pogi win he will be moral winner too and that i guess will be a hard pill to swallow. As for Remco he can now only win this race and that is that. The rest, discussions through the years, will likely be candid. Anyway, we'll see.

P.S. That is on why i said yesterday that i am happy that Rogla won by being the best and crossing the finish line first, and not due to relegation. It makes a difference.

That remains to be seen. At least it’s interesting.

Okay, come on now. Unless Evenepoel crashes, the peloton is in reality racing for second behind Evenepoel.

Let me clarify, for some people second is probably the best they could hope for, so working/racing for second is justified. But so is in a hypothetical situation with Pogacar/Van Der Poel/Vingegaard.

But the brake was formed with 250k to go. Of course Remco can hide in a group of 50 riders, but it should be better to hide in a group of 100 riders.

Evenepoel lost about 1'10 to Pogacar chasing for 50km solo behind Pogacar+MvdP+ motor assistance. Now obviously Liege has more climbing, but it's really hard to see Pogacar bring anything more than say 2 minutes back solo if it goes from like Stockeu onwards, especially as there's no way Evenepoel won't get any motopacing himself this time.

And otherwise they'd be racing for 4th.

It's another hour till feed begins... anyone knows more about G1? how they are riding. Is it Remco and Denz or are riders like Bernard, Hatherly, Bax for Hermans, bernal and De Plus, Ulissi, Magnus Cort, Formolo, Van den Broeck helping out equally..

It’s the same as after us postals and sky dominance that many riders and teams are tired of Pogacar and UAE so they are happy to see what happens, they will not cooperate with UAE if not MvdP this year. WvA and Visma showed what is possible

Nothing says cycling is becoming poor more than failing to show a full monument TV broadcast when it used to be the case.
