Me neither, and G1 needs to decide if they now actually want to go for it, or let G2 come back. Sure Evenepoel is there, and you basically are giving him the win, but you can't expect him and Denz to do all the work against a bigger peloton. The weaker teams in that G1 have to decide if they want to go for their top 10-20 position or just finish top 50 later.

That's something I agree with. You're basically gifting Evenepoel the win, but any team with any fire power should work in front to get a possible top 10.

To all of those debating the etiquette of an early split after a crash, remember this usually happens while there are attacks and the bunch is in one line / stretched out.
If you happen to be one of the favourites in front of the split (Remco), and you happen to have 30 seconds, you would be foolish not to put your domestique (Denz) on the front and pressure UAE.

There is some head wind going back to Liege, so the race isn't over yet / the hardest part is yet to come.

Incredible! I just came home and read what's going on. How is it possible that Pogacar's part of the peleton lost so much time? Not enough horsepower? Evenepoel in the first peleton is a huge game changer, no matter the distance remaining. I felt we would have a long finale but not 250 km long!

But they have less of a chance for 1st than Vermeerch had when he rode with Van Der Poel.
