The best for Evenepoel would be to go with a small group of 4-8 climbers with 80 km to go, and go solo on La Redoute.

Yes, Remco supported by a few strong guys will have much better chance. Similar things will happen behind I suppose (Pog, Seixas and some other guys).

a lot of pogi fans are fighting straws and what they imagine other people could possibly say in the scenario they make up

without engaging what is actually said in the concrete scenario that is unfolding
Well, some people were telling us that Ulissi and Hatherly can win this, so...their teams should work. So don't tell me about catching on straws and imagining things.

Okay, if Pogacar was in front with instead of Evenepoel do you think the other teams should have pulled?
And do you NOT agree that (some) people would criticise the likes of Groupama for pulling?

Denz is on very good form, was pulling for a long time like in Amstel, usually he waits until Roglic crashes out before pulling this kind of rabbit out of the hat.

But he probably wouldn't be working for Roglič, since that guy gets no help from his friends, allegedly.

Oh, okay. You don't pull with Pogacar, but you pull with Remco in a hilly terrain in a race that he has won twice, right?
It’s bizarre. Suddenly, the narrative is that Remco is a massive threat to Pogačar at Liège. Yet, when I checked a poll asking who would finish higher between Remco and a debutant like Seixas, the vast majority actually voted for the kid. The recency bias is real.

Ineos should not follow Wellens his wheel. he is alone atm. Just let it drop and let him ride.
Smart move from remco dropping for food and water. Have them forget about him and hopefully the others ride in the meantime

This is too hard. Over 4000 vertical Meters . There is no chance for the puncheurs. LBL should be a more open race. Not another classic where only the GC contenders can win.

It's basically De Plus vs Wellens right now

Around 90K to go is where I think things will start to break up, in both groups, from then on the climbs come thick and fast.

of course they should have pulled to start with

but pogi is much stronger and harder to work over , so they should stop sooner

I read a post on twitter yesterday that I double checked wasn’t ironic, saying that Roglic lost time on the last stage of Basque Country on purpose “because he doesn’t want to stand next to that rat Lipowitz on the podium”.

Probability is the key word here.....

As long as they are rather safe from the big group behind, yes, they should.
But in both situations we have a massive favourite and in a similar composition, everyone is basically riding for second without a real chance of winning.
