There was* a nice banner with the Danish Trek (WT) trio hanging on the wall of my local Lidl today.
"But, Red" I hear you say "There are only two Danish riders on the Trek WorldTeam." Yeah, they were including Withen.

*I'm assuming it's still there.

stoked that Milan will be sent to the tour. Although I would have liked to see Pedersen join him, this is still a fine decision, as Milan is closer to the top of his chosen discipline than Pedersen is, imo.

The way Pedersen, Kragh and Withen rode the Danish Championships yesterday, makes me think that those 3 need to ride M-SR, Ronde and P-R together.

It was a completely dominant performance from all 3 - on a route that resembled Worlds in Glasgow (with the added "benefit" of strong crosswinds).

Edit:

From what else I have seen this season, I think this team could seriously tangle with Pogacar and MvdP at the first 3 monuments:

Pedersen
Vacek
Simmons
Skujins
Kragh
Withen
Kirsch

But it will probably be a hard sell to bring none of the Italians for M-SR - and no Milan for P-R :p

Three cyclists in the top 10, including Ayuso. I suspect they'll have some off-road moments  . And Ciccone beating Ayuso in the srpint.

I wouldn't want to be the director of LIDL before the Ardennes.

Why should they have problems?
Assuming that Pogacar and Evenepoel will race the Ardennes, Lidl can just follow and whoever is the strongest will get result.
It's not like Lidl would be required to make the race...

I dont think Ayoso will necessarily like to ride the Ardennes next year.
Tirreno/PN + Catalunia + Romandie + Dauphine before the Tour.

Four including Ayuso, surely?

I think Lidl will need to take on the role of disruptors in classics. They have the next best guy in Flanders (Pedersen) and some of the next best guys in the Ardennes (to me the podium contenders are basically Healy, Ciccone, Pidcock, Skjelmose). Add in Skujins and Ayuso as outsiders. They can't make the race, they have to try make it really annoying – attack from far, disrupt, follow wheels.

Luckily they've shown zero intention of doing that all year.

You missed UAE egos soap opera  . Ayuso co star.

If it's been hard for Ayuso to overcome the fact that Pogacar is better than him, imagine if they told him in the Ardennes that he's not the leader because he has Skjelmose and Ciccone ahead of him.

Besides, Skjelmose has already spoken. They're going to have problems.

Maybe not so much with Ciccone, but he has better results this year in those types of races to demand.

Ayuso leftUAE because of those kinds of problems. In GT , he doesn't have anyone better than him at LIDL, but in classics like these, he has Pedersen, Skjelmose, and in 2025, we could say Ciccone.

Yes, that would be the best thing for everyone. Ayuso should be content being a GT rider like Vingegaard.
But in past interviews, he's said he wants to win in the Ardennes. That's why I said that.

Literally nothing in common with UAE.
UAE are the main favourites for most of the races. Lidl in the Ardennes aren't. Egos won't be a problem in Lidl, all that matters are the legs.
The other teams will make the races and whoever is the strongest will prevail.

Any idea, what´s up with Albert Withen Philipsen this autumn?
After he had some pretty good results early this season, he only raced the Tour of Danemark since june..
