He is DS at the Giro for RSNT and can't do two jobs at the same time. :D

True. However 2 weeks ago he said he was going to ToC

I can understand....who wants to spend a week in the car with Johan?

Well, it's pretty common for a DS to leave a race for another. I've just read an interview where Kim Andersen says he will follow Frank until the end of The Giro though.

Can you post the link please?:)

I can confirm this, he was supposed to leave the Giro early but Fränk requested he stay with him until the very end. Unfortunately I heard it in a radio interview so I can't post any links

They have José Azevedo & Luc Meersman as DS' for ToC

That would seem odd to me, Meersman is not even a DS he is in the management. Michaelsen is also doing the Giro, Cuercilena I don't know - you would expect so but three DS's seems one too many! Gallopin might be in Sierra Nevada with the altitude training camp ... what is Demol up to? Haven't heard from him in a while

Meersman is a bus driver.

Lol OK so that is what fleet manager means :D From the sounds of it I thought he was doing the logistics ... but he might be doing both I suppose!

All this is pretty anxious. One the other hand, who knows...probably these changes are needed and it is a start of Andy's breakthrough in another reality and his becoming as a rider of an extraterrestrial level. Time will show.

Or it could be (to borrow the title of a favorite Tears For Fears song) , The Start of the Breakdown.;)

Well we know what happened after another prominent rider was described as "extraterrestrial".

Basso was called extraterrestrial in 2006 before being caught.

No, he was just strong, like Contador in last year's Giro. The guys simply had a higher class compared to their opponents. Basso didn't need to be "extraterrestrial" to smash elderling Simoni, sick Savo and 80kg climber nicknamed "El Buffalo".

He did because everyone else was using it ;) And he still needed to do the Tour afterwards.

sorry airstream to dissapoint you:p

basso 2006 was almost faster than pantani on the ascents.basically he rode every single mtf of that 2006 edition with 50 more watts than in 2010.

this is one of the strongest peformances ever realized on a climb in history:

Monte Bondone-Vason da Cadine(bivio SP85)
2006:17,5 km@7,9%---46:16---average speed 22.69 km/h(Ivan Basso)

that's why some of us would like to see the return of robobasso.he will smash contador everywhere.we'll see this may if it's possible,i highly doubt it though.

Contador on the same stuff Basso was on in 2006 would sprint up those mountains lol.

Jens, it's useless to discuss Basso's perfomance in terms of doping because we all know that times and on what they rode. if basso in full vigor was faster than Pantani it comes that Gutierrez and Simoni were equal or at least comparable to Pantani. This fact astonishes even more. We can take any climbs and look at the results of 2010-11 and 2004-2007. There will always be a big difference. Basically it is not about absolute speed but about gulf in climbing skills between one and others.

I'm absolutely certain we won't see a former Contador too because he will come back being other rider, an honest one.
