Live race links (Streaming video)

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes:
Any chance of creating a "sticky" in the pro race section that lists live-stream options for those who don't live in cycling-mad countries?
I appreciate the live commentary you provide, but it's just not the same as watching Spartacus motor away in major races like P-R.
Thanks in advance.

Which thread do you want to sticky, are you asking to create a new thread?

I don't see an issue with your request.

Either start a new thread or let me know which one you want to sticky and I'll make it happen. :)

Cyclingfans has good links to all the races...

Thank you, good sir.
Truth be told, I was hoping someone else would do the heavy lifting.
I'm pretty much a luddite and have no clue where to find live-streams to races. Aside from the link you provided, I'm only aware of sportlemon.tv, which is pretty sketchy (constant ads, etc)
Reason I ask is I'm always searching through pages and pages of a race thread to find someone who provided a link.
First world problems, I know. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

Cyclingfans.com, as Irondan said, and steephill.tv. That's pretty much it, as far as I know - though it's been a few years since I've checked for any others.

One very important note, though: if you stream races over "unofficial" sites (which is pretty much all of them), be sure you have your firewall and anti-virus up to date and working; those sites will often try to infect your device with trojans and other nasties, as the price of providing the feed. You can still do it, just have your defenses up as much as possible.

If you visit the thread for the race you want to watch, just ask if anyone has a link when the race is 'live'. You will usually get a good few to choose from the kind members of the CN forums. Also, my usual go to guy is Cricfree:

http://cricfree.sx/football-live-stream

Usually a good stream for Eurosport. I personally don't mind which language the stream is in so would always ask in the thread as suggested above.

As we start to populate this thread with links I want to remind everyone that the links are for informational purposes only, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU CLICK! As Maxitron spoke to above.

I will go through them to clean out any dead link posts or other non race related links.

Hopefully there will be a nice little selection of high quality streams to watch live-action racing for people that don't have access to races on TV.

Besides steephill and cyclingfans, there is also procyclinglive and cyclinghub. If we're really going to sticky this thread, I assume it's just going to be a source for general places to look, in which case, maybe there should just be a list of them in the opening post. People are unlikely to come here to post a link every time a race is going on and will probably continue to post race specific ones in the corresponding race thread. Particularly since links can come and go during the races. Just knowing the 4-8 places to look should be sufficient. People are getting those specific links from those places anyway

I can compile a list after we get a few places and then delete the rest of the comments so there's just one comment at the top with the list.

If you install hola.org, you can watch geo'ed streams by clicking the hola icon and setting the country flag on the streaming country (might want to remove it after watching, as it might have some security concerns)
Streams that work with hola:
http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/video/11819587988/LIVE-Milan-San-RemoAustralia
http://www.rtve.es/directo/teledeporte/Spain
http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/matchcenter/mc_wielrennen/Comp_voorjaar_2016/1.2601493Belgium

And if you install ad blocker on your browser, you won't get the annoying pop up ads.

Have the mods/admin checked this thread with Dan? This is possibly illegal where CN is hosted and could cause problems. People posting links is fine, DMCA coverage and all that, but site moderators and admins pinning and populating a thread could well be viewed differently.

Good point KB, cheers. I'll run it up the chain.

What is the deal with the youtube streaming lately? I watched Catalunya the past couple days and MSR on cyclinghub.tv 's YouTube channel.

Is this legal or will it get shut down soon? There are commercials, hopefully a sign that this is legit, no problem to watch them or parts of them.

Watching on youtube is SO MUCH BETTER than these sketchy pirate streams. I am in Canada and have limited options but the recent youtube streams have been great!

I can't tell you how much malware i have picked up at Procyclinglive.com

My poor computer is so infected and I even have had firewall and anti virus installed but made no difference
I wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole

This must be a joke as i think this is the best site and usually has multiple links that cover every race.It looks pretty safe to me and i used it for years without any problems.

At this point I just have to say once again, just watch every stream on cycling hub. I think there hasn't been a race this season which they didnt show and the chance you get malware there is about 0%

I suggest you install an adblocker. They really do work :)
What I like about that site is that I can easily see when they air which race. I mainly use it to find an alt link if cyclinghub.tv doesn't work.

Redlands was really great. The GC was tight and lots of people made moves that if successful would have gave them the overall. The last two days were mind blowing w a guy going down and a young Mexican star taking the victory. Final day of racing saw a couple of huge unsuccessful attempts to solo for victory. When the final group did stick it turned the race into an officiating mess. The race does 5 laps around a circuit to finish because the lead group would have a possible problem mix with chasers the officials waved off everybody but the small front group and they did the laps alone...and this time Castillo was in the crunch but lost Sundays sprint to McCabe.
Dal Cin rode well and got the GC win. It's always nice to see how cold weather riders react to SCal temps even cold ones by California standards.
I hope the Knights Inn motel where I stayed goes out of business or just houses animals. The place is a hole and Booking.com should block it from appearing on possible rental rooms for humans.
