Okay, so... what thread are we gonna use to talk about this team?

This one?

Or... this one?

(At least it doesn't appear Wanty Intermarché had their own thread pre-merger.)

Whichever thread is used for discussion it needs to be quick. The rate riders are falling by the wayside there will not be any left.

I created that thread mainly for discussion of the act of merger. I'd be happy to lock that and move more recent texts that are just about this season here is I see likes on the post.

I think the other one doesn't have a lot of valuable stuff in it, you can probably just keep this one and change this ones name to Lotto Intermarché.

Indeed, the other one was about the merger. This one is about the team

The directory (pinned discussion) directed me here which is why I posted here

@Samamba What can we expect from Berckmoes this spring? How is he feeling?

He got sick and was off the bike for a whole week at the end of January. Skipped Mallorca Challenge and even altitude camp afterwards so not really sure. He's been training normally for a few weeks now but I wouldn't say he had the best winter because of that.

Hmm, better options for 4M then

@search Have you read anything about Zimmermann lately? He has notably underperformed since crashing out of TdF.

Him and Rutsch just returned from an altitude camp in Colombia, but there wasn't really any information about his shape. Zimmermann was happy with his Top 20 in Australia.

Most interesting part was that they went to Boyacá because they got to know Rodolfo Torres during his days at Androni. He now is mayor of Busbanza and helped them to organise stuff, find the best roads etc

According to local press, Georg Zimmermann headed to Sierra Nevada today for a training camp "together with 5 team mates also schedule to do the Tour de France". So if true, those six + van Eetvelt and de Lie should basically be the team for the Tour. Berckmoes and Veistroffer are there already, as far as I can see.

Apart from that, there's not much of interest. Zimmermann recently moved to Voralberg for better training opportunities, and his next races will be Dauphiné and German champs, where he aims to defend the jersey, albeit on a so far unknown course.

Beullens is also there, and Artz is probably the other based on line ups of other races.
Only a few other riders that aren't racing. Kristoff, De Buyst, Van Sintmaartensdijk, Widar and Thompson.
Given De Buyst physical troubles any of these guys would be strange. If it's for the Tour, maybe Widar for example is there to prepare for his comeback, unrelated to the Tour. Or they are actually sending Van Sintmaartensdijk to do nothing.

It doesn't help when you have barely 8 riders good enough for a Tour de France

not that it really is the right thread, but the route was announced now, and it clearly is a climbers course. They do 7 laps of a 27k circuit including this climb:

So Lotto down to 4 guys with Lenny VE going home with a broken finger. The guy really has no luck.
