Luke Lamperti (just his name no "next" no other rider's name (e.g. Sagan) and no "thread")

Good luck against giga January Welsford, Brennan, Van Uden, Dainese, Vernon and DVP! I also think Molano, Lund Andresen and possibly Blikra would be favoured over Lamperti. He just doesn't seem to have the speed. But he should try, of course. I'm more excited to see him in tougher races though, if he can rediscover some of the durability he showed in 2024.

The media coverage of his win today is a bit disrespectful imo. Focusing on how rivals were boxed in or ran out of room. Obviously if you just sit in the wheels the whole time you will have more left when it's too late to matter.

Congrats LL!

The USA hasn't had a field sprint threat for a while (or maybe we have, but it was before we sprang the clocks forward).
Goon squad management misused ( didn't use) Lamperti at Quickstep. Guy is 23 and he is certainly not a climber, but for sprinters he survives some pretty decent gradients. They never really tried to get him in all around races with rollers always picked other riders. Team was so obsessed with pleasing king Remco and his father, 3,4 riders just sat doing inferior races. He has a bunch of top tens, he was treated like B or C team by Quickstep in my opinion. I really hope that he gets to ride biggest races for EF.. As Patrick left and dealt with Remco contract buyout, transfer festering Lamperti was just put on the shelf.
To be compared to Boonen, Sagan, that's high praise, just hope EF uses the guy( kid) like the Swiss Army knife everyone thinks he is.

On topic Lamperti has a wicked jump, glad he didn't do US crit circuit and find himself destroying Robin Carpenter or the Williams brothers, he got results at Trinity..

I had the pleasure to ride with him on a few occasions. One time from Wenatchee to Waterville...have you done that one?

Sorry off topic. I hope that we see more of LL!
That’s great! I met him a couple of times and bike club functions, great guy. I’ve done Wenatchee-Chelan RT several times. Nice spring ride when it’s still wetter in the west side
