Big fan of Cav, but can't see why they're doing this. In EBH they have a great rider who stands to do well in the type of finish that looks to be shaping up. Maybe they think he doesn't need the help, but surely Cav is done for.

Last year when it split, HTC sat up. They had faith in Goss. Clearly Sky don't have the same faith in EBH.

At least 2 sky riders were in about 40th in the peloton going up the Manie. Assume that EBH was one and Lofkvist was the other. Havent seen confirmation though.

Yes, Lofkvist, EBH, and Puccio (haven't seen him with Cav anyway) all stayed in the front group.

Either way (and I think we all know he isn't going to win), the fact he has won this before renders the ritual Cav kicking rather odd. He's pretty clearly got food poisoning or some such.

Have seen Farrar be shown a few times but not sure where. Earlier on someone said that Farrar had come back to the main group after being dropped on the Manie.

Last year the split cut out lots of big names - this year just Cav - clearly no parallel - you should be better than that sort of false comparison.

I'm pretty sure except for the logo in the upper right corner all the inserts come directly from the Italian directors.

Sky are leading a group about 50 seconds behind the peloton. Cav is in that group. EBH is in the peloton.

Dont think they realised how much time Cav was going to lose and by the time they did the riders couldnt get back on. Its a tough call, they might have thought he would be 20-30 seconds back at the top and be able to get back on quite easily.

They all (except Eisel) left Cav pretty quickly. Why the others didn't make it back to the peloton nobody knows.

He was coming back to a group though - i think he must have disappeared off the back of the 2nd group for whatever reason so cyclingnews getting confused is a bit understandable.
