Track worlds.

That's what I thought.

Though evidently not;...

GB SQUAD FOR UCI TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - APELDOORN

Women's Sprint: Becky James, Victoria Pendleton, Jess Varnish

Women's Endurance: Lizzie Armitstead, Wendy Houvenaghel, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell, Laura Trott

Men's Sprint: Matt Crampton, Ross Edgar, Sir Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny

Men's Endurance: Steven Burke, Ed Clancy, Sam Harrison, Pete Kennaugh, Andy Tennant

Also, British Eurosport MSR coverage;

13:45(UK) Live Cycling: Milan-Sanremo (180min) :)

Yeah, I don't get that, it was clearly stated at the start of the season that they were both going for the Worlds. I guess Swifty failed his audition for the Omnium after Harrison won his, and Thomas... changed his mind? Odd.

Farrar FTW.

That is all.

Not bad having a world champ as main lead out guy, Tyler has a big chance no question.

This race is so open though so I've yet to make my mind up properly on tipping anybody for this one. Maybe an outsider like Viviani for a top 10. Garmin have Hushovd, Haussler, Tyler so are very spoilt for choice unlike Sky.

Hopefully they have seen the error of their ways and will allow Geraint to focus more on the road. With his form, he is surely a shoe-in for MSR...

Would suit swifty too - though maybe another full season under his belt would do no harm first.

This is the stage where I though Farrar will win MSR some day. Seems to get over hills better than a lot of other pure sprinters. I would put my money on him for the win.

Haussler, Farrar and Hushovd. I'll be surprised if they don't win MSR with a team like that!

hey, I'm playing this awesome german fantasy cycling game called teamtoto,

where I need to identify the riders who have the best chances of getting a top 10 result in MSR AND Gent-Wevelgem.

Unfortunately it's really hard to find out who is targeting both races and has the capabilities to do well in both of them.

in this game it's really bad to have an expensive rider in your team who doesn't achieve top 20.

I have 10 Million and need to get a good team for MSR and Gent-Wevelgem out of these drivers:

Cancellara 4M
Gilbert 4M
Boonen 3M
Pozzato 2.7M
Cavendish 2.5M
Freire 2.3M
Iglinskiy 2.3M
Haussler 2.2M
Goss 2.2M
Farrar 2.2M
Petacchi 2.1M
Bennati 2M
Boasson-H 2M
Sagan 1.8M
JJ Haedo 1.5M
Roelandts 1.4M
Cooke 1.3M
R. Feillu 0.6M

So now I have to pick a team for 10M which will do well in MSR and Gent-Wevelgem, would be awesome if you guys could help

riders for milan san remo

Who's riding?, what form are they in?, who's the favourite discounting barbie and buckteeth?
Where is the startlist?

Why is nobobdy interested in it this year?

Do the sprinters load up on PEDs for this race or do you think it is ridden relatively clean?

Whats the weather forecast?

Is there a live feed?

What beer should I drink to watch this race?

From cyclingyoda twitter;

Cavendish, I think, for Milan San Remo. Deception he is using. Form is better than appears. Cipressa and Poggio no barrier for him

:):)

Why would he use deception? It doesn't matter in a race like MSR. They're always going to make it hard on the Cipressa and Poggio if Cavendish is still there.

Just using excuses for Cav sucking. Sure, he can win MSR this year, but he sucked at T-A and he knows it.

Dunno. Just quoting. He did the same in '09 though...;)

Well, they didn't make it very hard in '09. That year they thought there was no chance of him making it to the finish even going at a slower pace over the final climbs.

Now... even with deception I doubt it will ever work again. If he's present, even more sprint focused teams are going to up the pace to a level to drop Cav. Farrar, Haussler and Hushovd want a sprint... but they don't want Cav there. Other sprint teams will be the same. They want a sprint... just not one with Cav present.

I'd love to see Petacchi win this, but my sprint tip is probably a Garmin. Haussler if Farrar can't follow accelerations on the Poggio. The only spoiler I can see for them is Freire, just because he has a surprisingly good chance of winning every race he enters, and he can do it on his own.

My dream pick is Gilbert with a move on the Poggio. Wouldn't it be grand? :D

It's not like guys like Gilbert and Pozzato think they don't have to attack on the Poggio because Cavendish isn't in good shape. It's the attacker who make the final of MSR hard, not the sprinter teams. MSR almost always finishes with a 30 to 50 man bunch, 2009 wasn't an exception to that.

The only recent exception(an even smaller group behind the Canc) was 2008 where Gilbert totally broke the sprinters hope :p
