Pinot's post-race interview: "I didn't have good sensations today" :D . He sure made it look easy...

Not the best field of course, but Thibaut backed his pre-race bold statements up, crushed it.

Ghjuntu, vistu, vinciutu (veni, vidi, vici)

If he had not won here, I would have question his capabilities and talent.
Definitely.
Reading everything I could find leading to the CI, Pinot wanted to avenge last year's bitter defeat like a boxer who wants a re-match. He made uncharacteristic, bold statements prior to the beginning of the race, showing a warrior mentality that is not the typical Tibopino shy stuff. Thibaut put the pressure on himself, and he delivered. I think that's what's to remember. The field was weak, yes, weak enough for FDJ to Sky the field on stage 3. But as a team, it's a good for morale to defend a jersey, not panic (I did when JCP took off  ), and prove to themselves that they can do it.
