Well, they'll do that hump 6 times so I think it at least a chance that there might not be a full sprint. Or at the very least it might leave some of the more stereotypical sprinters behind. My bet is for Viviani or if he gets dropped then Sagan.

Touche, this is no Theo Bos or Napolitano sprint.

I am going with the battle of the Slovs- Sagan vs. Bole. Though Ferrari won here last year, and has had a very good early season so far.

Look at some of these names:

Sella
Serpa
Basso
Sagan
Gasparotto
Iglinskiy
Kreuziger
Ballan
Evans
Brutt
Di Luca
Pozzato
Visconti
Pozzovivo

Sure someone like Bole or Sagan might win from a small group, but this is no day where the sprinters teams just hang a break out to dry and then setup their run for the line.

The climb, if anyone is interested:

They cover it 6 times.

Edit: On second thought, I'm going with Pelucchi, he is better than Freire so a course like this should suit him.

Top 20 from Last Year

1 Roberto Ferrari (Ita) De Rosa - Stac Plastic 4:38:09
2 Jacopo Guarnieri (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo
3 Enrico Rossi (Ita) Ceramica Flaminia
4 Sacha Modolo (Ita) Colnago - CSF Inox
5 Filippo Pozzato (Ita) Team Katusha
6 Luca Paolini (Ita) Acqua & Sapone
7 Tiziano Dall'antonia (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo
8 Francesco Gavazzi (Ita) Lampre-Farnese Vini
9 Marko Kump (Slo) Adria Mobil
10 Jure Kocjan (Slo) Carmiooro NGC
11 Daniel Oss (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo
12 Manuel Belletti (Ita) Colnago - CSF Inox
13 Mirco Lorenzetto (Ita) Lampre-Farnese Vini
14 Matti Breschel (Den) Team Saxo Bank
15 Daniele Colli (Ita) Ceramica Flaminia
16 Kristijan Koren (Slo) Liquigas-Doimo
17 Giuseppe Palumbo (Ita) Acqua & Sapone
18 Jose Joaquin Rojas Gil (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne
19 Blaz Furdi (Slo) Sava
20 Martin Pedersen (Den) Footon-Servetto

Plenty of these guys are more than serviceable in a sprint. Like I stated earlier this is not a Bos style sprint where everyone finishes in the same time, but 50 guys could definitely finish in a reduced sprint.

Edit: just saw your post about a different finishing circuit. I still fancy a reduced sprint, but I'd like to see Sella or Serpa wreak some havoc.

Looks like Raisport 2 will have 15minutes of highlights tonight after the race.
Giro del Friuli 22-30 to 23-16CET.
Rai Sport 2 is the new, all singing and dancing Italian cycling channel.
The advertised 45 minutes of highlights might turn into an hour.
It did for every stage of Sardinia and the classica.

If it's wet and miserable I think the big names will not bother coming out to play. I think this is one for Oscuro Italiano.
